I just received a newsletter from Hommega about the future release Nu-Clear Visions Of Israel compiled by Astrix which is a collaboration of both Hommega and TIP World.

On this newsletter there were attached some words written by the owner of TIP World, our well known Raja Ram.

I will first of all copy to you the text which is the following.....

Israel has the spirit: The top parties, the most parties and the highest energies and smiles.
Why? This is answering the unanswerable! Is it the sun or the humus? The moon or the dolphins?
But the waves of energies and smiles at Israeli parties cant be beat! The people understand and feel this music!
And there is nowhere on the planet that so much fine music pours out,new young acts almost daily.
Like mushrooms suddenly popping from the giant underground labyrinth unwinding the golden string in the maze.
We find our way back to the source, music for the feet and the soul,Groovy/Spacey,far out,
psychedelic to the max, extreme listening. Not for the faint hearted, but a delicious spinning, throbbing,
flowing effortlessly and being appreciated by so many young hands and feet, what a time,a renaissance
for top dancing and listening intelligent sounds, the new wave, the latest, this is the sound of Israel!

.....After reading this text i gave myself a break and started making some thoughts for 10 minutes. Then i asked my self some questions.

Does Israel still has the spirit?Do people still have those high energies and smiles on their face?

I am a party promoter and everyday i speak with many artists (many israelis also) and in some of our conversations we discuss about the musical and party situation in Israel.I dont want to say all of them but most of them have indicated to me that Israel has actually lost this spirit, people are not yet smiling in parties and things are not like they used to be some years ago.The energies are not so high and people have changed through time.Maybe the people dont feel the music anymore OR maybe there is no feeling in the music to feel anyway.

Do new artists get borned daily?Do they pop up like mushrooms like Raja Ram said?

Yes indeed new artists appear every day from Israel BUT is this good?Or is the music destroyed from all these new artists that are overcrowding the scene with low quality and poor ideas productions?Ofcourse labels have a piece of responsibility on this one but this is another conversation.

Are we finding our way back to the source?

I am a new listener to be honest but have heard most of the old tracks from Israeli artists like Power Source,Oforia,Space Cat,Tandu,Indoor,Mystica,Chakra,Edi Miss,Astral Projection and many many more.Do the new artists follow the success of these music giants? Is their music also for the brain except from the body?Is this psychedelic trance in any way?Sorry but i dont think that we are going back to the source in any case.

So finally is this the new sound of Israel or is this the end of the psy trance music?

I wouldn't be so depressed, yes most of israeli music nowadays is copy paste music and it's main aim is to satisfy the ppl on the dancefloor. But with the huge amount of new artists you can spot some that really impress and show very interesting ideas. This is not a short list but not as short as i would except from such big variety of artists nowadays. BTW i think that in the good ol` Goa days most of the artists also sounded more or less the same. Everyone used 303 squeeky sound, everybody had Roland Juno and SH101 and the difference wasn't that big. Today you've got: Full on, Minimal, Tech Trance, Progressive. You can actually hear something and guess quite accurately where this track was made and what label released it. Maybe i'm wrong but that's how i feel.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

i won't talk about the parties since there are much more knowladgable and expirienced people here than me.
about the new artists popping up... this is quite alike the fullon clones thread in some way...
new artists come up everyday and imho most of them do not come up with fresh and innovative music.
but you have to look harder for the real quality stuff.
the problem is that the quality factor is exactly opposite to the release quantity and that what sucks here.

Can't say anything about parties in Israel, but i want to comment on the name of this compilation.

I don't know who chose the name (if Astrix himself, or hommega's manager, etc), but i think it couldn't be worst for a psychedelic trance compilation... It's a "bad vibe" name. Really awful.
I can't help thinking there is a political message behind, even though i prefer to think it has nothing to do with it...

And yes, i'm aware of the other interpretation (new/neo clear visions of israel).

About the parties, I think Raja Ram is right, I have been at several parties around the world, talked to a lot of artists, and also talked to a lot of trance ppl from the abroad, everybody says that the most crazy crowd is here and in Japan. It also depends wich parties you have seen, the commercial big events or small private (300 - 2000 ppl) ones. At small parties, karahana rulezz big time !!!
About the music, I am a big fan of Israeli sound, but not the "classical" full on. I don't know why, but I FEEL this music, it makes me cry. Very few European tunes touch me so deep.

I'm sure it doesn't contain a political message, but you have to agree it's a "bad vibed" name...

there is a difference between living in israel and traveling in israel...
for the ones who live here.... they will say "its not how it use to be"
but the NAME of israel around the trance scene is still caried the "high energy" with him...
for me... the energy is still there... it is just now that its quite a low... it will rais up again... soon... i hope...
if ill go to brazil right now ill say "wow!!!!! the people! the parties...ect ect..."
but if ill esk someone who lives there, maybe he will think different.
it is all in the eyes of the viewer...

my spirit is always high... i think... well... sometimes... ehhh....

Let me put it this way - Israel is the best & worst place in the world for trance. anybody who has played/danced in israel will tell you that.

Most of israelis DJs/Artists that came to Brazil said me (about the parties):

"Brazil is a good place, but Israel is much better!"

I`ve never gone to a party/festival in Israel, just in Brazil, but who had the opportunity to go in both countries, still preffer Israel!

So, maybe there is a magic place!           In GROOVE we trust!

no magic here Marcelinha...trust me on that, it's long gone...
it's all a question of choosing the right party to go to, and I must say that it keeps getting harder and harder to find a real good party in here, and I go out almost every weekend, so I know what I'm talking about.

I agree with Pelon, which is one of the reasons why I don't go almost every weekend.

I can't compare to other places too much, but I think that the vibe I love and look for is slowly dwindeling and disappearing. I have a feeling it's not only in Israel.

I'm afraid that what's written about the CD is only promotional material, but how is Raja to know? He hasn't played in a real underground nature party in Israel for ages (if he ever did)- he plays only in commercial pose parties with people coming for a fashion show and a good fun and a lot of redbull and vodka and drugs, and things like Rave-O-lution (search party reviews). Nothing spiritual about these parties and most of the music played in them (I'll get to that in a minute). So I'm afraid unless this is quoting an old Raja Ram saying (which is possible) he's way off the mark.

As for the artists popping up here creating wonderful music- I agree there are a lot of artists in Israel, some of them very very talented, and some of them carrying an amazing spiritual vibe in their music (why else would I put so much into this site?). But these ar not necessarily the ones Raja signs and/or releases at his label, though. Some of these, while being talented in some aspects, lack originality and lack spirit/feel in their music, which is why some of TIP World releases lately has been sounding like a clone factory.

I wish Raja will take out that something stuck in his eye and preventing him from seeing right, he's a leading figure in this community, and can help to try and keep it with its ideals intact (as some others who could take the responsibility and don't even try).

Saying all that, when a party in Israel is good- it's fucking excellent and you just can't match it. People here do have the energy, the warmth, the want to feel something else. And when things connect- it's the real thing alright!           ---------------------------------------------

there is a saying in the bible : "as he'll be supressed the more he'll flurish" (maybe not an exact translation but u sure know what i mean)

situation in israel sucks in all ways - economical, spiritual, political ect....
if u read the papers u know, and there is no need to say much about it.

such a siuation is slowly criping in to people heads and hearts if they like it or not.
i remember many sessions with my group mates, that were interapted with exploding sounds coming from the TV set (while we were having a break) or from the street.
we used to give it a glimp and than going back to the studio room and keep on jamming, we felt we should not let all that shit around us stopping us from expressing ourselves as artists trying to bring joy to this world, and belive me - it's a hard task.

creating joyfull music in israel and for israel is the most needed thing right now, and nothing will stop that wheel .
and the feeling is that things are going to be better,in any sense, soon u'll see thoe smiling faces digging again to the sound of new and fresh tunes never heard before.

i'm sure of it, don't u?

Hey all,

I think we should take a moment to feel and remember...

Ok, now we can go on...

I can say openly and freely that I love everybody around this forum... We probably share a dream. And even if we don't it's because pp hvnt discovered it yet or just forgot... Ok, things are not in Israel as u guys wanted or even as it was, but let's not rush to declare the magick, the spirit and the dream dead...

This... this... this negativity is not us.

Problems do not exist per si, they are mere differences between present situation and desired situation...

I can't say anything about Israel, wait... yes I can... I don't know how things was and are there... But I know Trance is all around now, and the Israeli still got the magic, the spirit, the dream and the smiles... every good festival I've been in Brazil has a considerable number of high spirited and good vibed israelis... So maybe you're just exporting the best of the production (just like Brasil does with cofee ).

Than again, things WILL get better just like Ozric said, even if they momentarily get worse...

About the music I actually hv a metaphore I think most pp will understand... Coming to my near by case... Brazilian footbal players r famous all around and lots of the better in the world come from here... but we can't expect every new player to be a Pelé... got it?... Or even any...

About the cloning of music... about everything (sorry)... most things sounding the same... I can only say that every industry presuposes a standardsation of the production... It's something like american action movies... But still, there will be exceptions to make the sound and scene evolve, and there will be the following sectus...

The enormous quantity of releases just make the digging harder and the listening skills more important...

Sorry for the huge post and if I didn't make it very clear... I tend to be complex...

The very best energies for all of you... let love be sovereign in your heart...

And let's not forget...

The music will never stop.

The heartbeat will never fade.

The party will never end.

PLUR to every single soul, that has been around, that share with us these troubled times and to those yet to come...

please, strive to be happy, and party on, anyway u feel like...
