This is getting ridicilous!

This is getting very-very ridicilous.
I'm a part of a new party production and we just got into outdoor party organization.
So far we've done one party which was a big success (Amazingly, it lasted 'till 12 pm).
Our parties (At least for now) are made for fun, not the money, for all people who love Trance. Our first party cost 20 shekels and after covering the expanses we invested all the rest of the money in cleaning the area which where the party was.
We are about to make another party and so, here i am, sending messages to people who i've been told (by people from THIS forum) they are cool to invite. Surprisngly enough, i got many suspicious responses by people who seem to think i'm trying to fuck them over. With questions about the music, dj's, about myself...what the fuck?!  People seem to be more and more spoiled with what they expact out of a party. for those who don't know - it's not the "big names" or your favourite tracks which makes a good party, but it's the people, the vibe.
I can understand people who ask details beacuse they are paying good money for it and no one wants to be in a really bad party but this is too much! I can't gaurantee amazing party, but who can? there are so many unexpacted things that can happen (Violent arsim who show up, Police, Weather problems, Electricity problems). I've been in so many parties which i paid 150 shekles to hear my favourite acts from abroad and even though they had it all they were lousy parties but on the other hand i've been in other small parties with local Dj's and they were some of the best in my life, and i'm sure that many of you can relate to that.
The fact that people don't bother to give you a chance beacuse they are "unfamiliar with this Dj" just makes me wonder why bother from the first place. Party organizers wants everybody to have fun (and yes, they sometimes try to make money out of it beacuse they're taking a risk which you're not willing to take) so why don't you show some support? And if you'll come, and you'll be disappointed? so? you'll lose 40 shekels. big fucking deal!
Alwyays complaining, you just can't please anyone, even when you have good intentions.
The Accelerator.

I agree on some points
But... there are a lot of reasons for people acting this way:
1. It's a small country and asking for names can give you an idea, like kind of music this d.j plays. And asking for music style, well, it's legitimate I think. I mean, with all the respect, if you make a party that's only full on, and I don't like full on, I won't come.
2. Many parties get busted, you should know that as a party organiser. So people want to know if you did parties before, what crowd you have, and if it's worth going out without knowing the party will be busted after an hour.

And I'm not asking for biug names, most of the forum people will enjoy small parties. But you're talking with people that understand about music, and they want to know to what they are going to.

So don't be so harsh on people.

Man, you can't expect people to go without ANY details. Lineup and approximate location are necessary. I probably won't go to a party that plays full-on at night, for instance. I also will probably not go to a party near Ashkelon, since I live in Haifa.

It's not spoiled - but if I pay 40nis for a party that's far away with no big names, and I can pay 100 to see Haldolium 20 minutes away in a beautiful location, what do you think my decision will be? Good intentions are very important to a good vibe, but when I'm going to a party, I like to know what I'm getting into. We have a LOT of parties in Israel. I just want to go to the one where I'll have the most fun.

It doesn't mean it has to have big names, but if there aren't any names, and it's 250km from my home, I won't go. You're saying people don't deserve that information?

This reminds me the classic example whan you go to a new working place and they ask you
If you have any previous expirence, and if you don't have any so they won't hire you. How the hell you'll be expirenced if no one wants to give you a chance?!
Giving specific details is a problem, and we all know why.
As for music, that's true, we didn't specify the style, but we can't please anyone. We belive that the Dj's will get responses that will direct them to the favourite taste and from that point we'll know which Dj's to bring for the next time. Once again, we just getting started and we're still don't know what to expact from people who'll come.
It's not fair to compare between us to Moksha project. For those who forgot, whan they started they had small parties with small names. We all begin from the starting point.

We're not comparing you to anyone.
We know the trouble of starting a thing like that ourselves, believe me.
But as for d.js... everyone has its style
So d.js do tend to go to some music trend.
And if they can't be specific, then probably it'll be a full on party, cause they'll want to "latet ba rosh", and not everybody likes it.

Again... you can't be so wide about your concepts.

Assaf... you gave a very good reply btw.

Man, people love good parties, but tell them "no known DJs, progressive at night, full-on morning, outdoors, somewhere in the north, call 053549165 for the exact location later on".

That's enough. I don't ask for any more info if someone gives me that.

Raver: Your reply was better! Mine would piss me off if I'f give it to myself in retrospect.

maybe, if you contact one dj from israel that you trust his taste and he will help you taking the right descisions, and how not to get into the common beginers mistakes, anyway good luck, and i will be happy to know you keeping on!

Hey Accel.
You brought up a good point here.  People are much more selective now that the outdoor parties became a major scene in Israel.  They want big names in a small party that costs almost nothing.  I'm not the one who should tell you that that's just impossible.
Once your line of parties will become known to people, they'll ask less questions, and until then, just take it easy.  There'll be always enough people on the forum here and all around that would be more than happy to come to a small party, with not-so-known DJs but with a good vibe.
Keep up the good work, mate.
Loved your idea of using all the spare money for cleaning up the party site.  I've been to a few parties that the organizers didn't care about that and it'd just pissed me off.

P.S. I'd love to get info about your next party. private.

well, accelerator, you do have a good point, but well, as cookie and asaf wrote, you can't expect people to go somewhere they don't know (might be a sucky place to do a party), it might be a place they have bad memories from and they'll drive all the way for nothing, as cookie said, they might not like the music type, or the kind of people you think are good people for someone else might look like arsim, so i think it's really hard for people to trust someone they don't even know just like that.
now for another thing, well, i go to parties almost every week, and a small party could be great from time to time, but lately i've been screwed so many times because of lousy and greedy organising that it gets really hard trusting another person. and well another thing, summer is just around the corner, and all the known organisers are getting back to business and people are coming out of their holes, so for one thing having the summer on your side, you might get more people at your parties, but on the other hand, well, if you'd have a party at the same night as moksha, avi&zohar, gabi&the twins, itzik&david or who knows who else that i know their parties, well, sorry but you'd come second place (or third if two of them make a party the same weekend, as they usually do).
so, good luck with your parties, i'd like to know about them too, and well, i'd like to make a suggestion that maybe for once there'll be an organiser who knows when other organisers aren't making parties and he'll be the one to fill the hole that's left from time to time, so's that i'll have a party to go to every week, with no dry seasons :)
and again, good luck man :)

yo axel dude !
first, lots of respect for u guys for helping the scene with parties !
keep it up !
power to the ppl !
:)
now, you have to understand that u came into a forum that most of the ppl here know their music.
and know what they like.
so a minimal party description you need to have is:
1. global location (north, center, south)
2. indoor/outdoor
3. style of the music. like asaf said: prog night and full on morning or whatever u do....
and i personaly will find that info enough.
i dont care who is the dj.
and i mostly would prefer small "viby" party to a big "namy" party (if u know what i mean) !
so take care and never give up !
:)

Tell you the truth, im all with you Accelerator and i agree in general... things are really ridicilous in this forum sometimes.

you basic screenplay will be like this:
- someone post a party,
- someone ask who are you,
- someone compalining about posting parties in the forum in fear of cops and Shimonim (arsim as they called them),
- someone answer and tells the one before that if
someone want to post a party in the forum, it's their buisness,
- someone may argue,
- someone agrees and so on...

and it's the same fucking story almost everytime...

im must appear in tons of lists, since for every party i get like 4 diffrent invites for diffrent sources. Why not just post the parties @ Layla.co.il or Citymouse and let the people make their choice...

Good morning The Accelerator!
I value your concern and kindness :)
I think most of the things you said are 100% right. I know lotsa good people who just can't afford those party that cost more than 50 NIS .
I liked the most "the hat" parties, whoever wants to contribute- contributes :)
Trance is all about free spirit and love :)
tho like some said, should be sooome minor details! good luck , hope to hear from you about your upcoming parties :)
