Just saw this movie and I have to say, from the first track (Bang Your Head, by Quiet Riot) I was into it. Mickey Rourke plays an old beatup wrestler who finds he has no where to go but the way he's been going. Rourke plays the part perfectly. He really became the character, as he does in all his films.
I cried several times in this movie (the parts with his daughter) and laughed and felt close to this guy, who sometimes reminded me of myself in a way.
Marisa Tomei does a great job playing a stripper who also is realizing she's getting too old for it.

ah, I'm no good at movie reviews, but just wanted to say that this is a great movie and I highly recommend it.
(guys over 40 who had some good years behind them, I think you can relate).

I was about to post about it as well.
I found the movie extremely emotional and intimate. Everything about this movie keeps you glued to the screen and the ending was so shocking and so right that you won't be able to stop thinking about the movie for some time afterward.
Mickey Rourke IS Randy Ram Robinson.
As much as Heath Ledger was the Joker.
9.5/10

Mickey actually was a boxer two times in his life (and he had a very very difficult life even after he was famous) so thats why he actually IS Randy Ram Robinson.

Please dont compare a screen legend like Mickey with Heath Ledger.

Super movie
Very touching, and quite strong morals.

Indeed.
My eyes got haevy in tears in a couple of moments.

Mickey is fantastic, once again.
And the cameras... well, they were just perfect.
The fights, evrything, perfectly made.

This one was better than "Requiem For A Dream", but still not as good as "The Fountain", which imho was his best movie so far.

This guy is brilliant!!

Mickey Rourke playing someone who continually got punched in the face. I'm sure he had trouble following himself around for a year to prepare for that.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

Actually Wrestling and Boxing are vastly different. Rourke with his boxing background had to learn everything from the beginning for this movie. He spent many months practicing with a legendary Afa of the Wild Samoans for this role           Everyone in the world is doing something without me
