just look at the garbage that people at festivals and parties throw around them in the nature...
this is not at all people that i think share my vision,
i am one of those that takes a garbage bag and collect the garbage.....(but maybe on Xtc you see the beauty in garbage-lol-j/k)
in my opinion, someone who is real to psytrance is also real to the nature..
anyway its a form of music, every music has its culture and its the culture that we speak about..
not so much about the music...
"the real hiphop society"
"the real country society"
"the real opera society"
hehe its a difficult question, its too wide, there are people with all sorts of backgrounds, they like the music and that should be the real issue..
but its tricky, cause for some people the music is so much more than music.. its love, fellowship, something that binds people together, a shared vision.
i guess you can say that the people that is very involved with the music is the real ones. no matter if you listen to the music or create and listen aswell, they are equally real to the music  but my view is also that one should be open to all kinds of music, the question to ask, is what is "Real" and what do we mean with it... to me, to be real to something is when you burn for it, you love it and you hate it, you live it, you try to weave it into your ordinary life.
Of course there are fanatics which think everything should stay the same,
i probably have my fanatic sides aswell, well anyway its hard to describe what real is, cause it can mean different things for different people, its pretty individual, what might be real to me might not be real to you.
Psytrance is this era´s hippies(you might say but it might not be true for everyone), so we have the spirit of love for the nature, meaning humans aswell, yeah we are a part of it, probably
sure if you dont want to call yourself a hippie or even have any connection with their lifestyle, but you still like psytrance.. then maybe you are not real to this musics culture?
you can say that different music cultures has different visions of the world, but in some cases all music meet somewhere...
music connects us,
and psytrance connects alot of people, and when a lot of people connects there is bound to happen things..
sometimes good things, sometimes bad things(like nazi music)
we are all living in our own bubbles, sometimes some one manage to poke a hole on our bubble and we learn new things, sometimes
we close the bubble more so people cant reach us...
we will probably never meet eachother on the same level, but we can sure try... that is the real thing.. to try, and sometimes we got to try hard... |

The thing in psytrancers is that there is no way you can say how they are, you cannot sort of copy them because it's a feeling constant of life and always growing love inside. It's not something that people can say oh yeah i love trance and i am trance like already happened in the scene, they are trance yes they maybe love fullon and everything or whatever, but when i meet a real trance person i know that he or she is different from the thousands in the dancefloor. I can see from peoples eyes what they really are and in real psytrancers there is something much more than normal. I do not think they are specail they are just different then other people everybody has his own path and the difference with real psytrancers is maybe that they found there place in the cosmos and love it. Other people may find other places, others may not find anything in a lifetime, others may find more ot it i do not know! I think this is the most i can explain in words as to what is a real psytrance person also i agree New Era Scientist that they love nature and it's all so obvious that they love nature because we are nature and so when we unite with the nature we become more enlightened more happy! more trance! For a real psytrance person Trance is the emblem of all that is considered good, love, happiness, laughter just everything , every good deed is considered as Trance! Imagine!

yeah man what you say is true for you because this is what i mean that i cannot explain a real trance person! It is something tha people like you cannot understand with all due respect my friend but i really cannot imagine my mother to understand it also. It is not for everyone and it is for everyone It is for everyone who wants it to be so...Like music and Trance for you are same, well for me they are totally different, Trance for me is life! All of it!

How very Modest of you Mr.Ganjagil, How come you have the right to tell people that they have not got the slightest clue of what is psychedelic trance ! and accusing people in here of being new in the scene while taking us back to Goa in 2001 we use to ask you to come to the parties with us and you use to tell us that trance is the creepiest electronic music around (and for that there are people to prove it) OK lets say your opinion about the music has changed fare enough, well and good, but to come in here telling people that they have not got a clue and that they are new to the scene is something not modest at all, since you have only just joined the scene yourself ….!
I simply don’t understand on what grounds you have climbed to so HIGH in your status to talk down to people in this manner sure you are not making a good reputation for that Flag you are wearing, and for sure you are not practising the LOVE & UNITY that you always cry about ! …for sure people in here understand that not all people from Malta think like you !
Subjects that you don't know about don't pretend that you do, peolpe in here are enough showing that you are being Silly.
So be Modest man Chill Out you have only just joined the scene yourself !
And to get back on topic although it’s irrelevant, a psy person sure is not the one who just spends most of his time righting what ever comes to his head on this forum !

You're not giving your mother much credit man. You should respect the fact that she is much older than you and has experienced life much more than you have. Have you ever thought that she understands enough about trance, to simply choose not to be part of it?

nolightatend - if there are no real trance people then there are no real punk people, no real rasta people, no real hiphop people, no real country people..
please explain what do you mean with real?
and if you want to discuss make sure the words you use has the same meaning...
im guessing that we sort of gliding into individuality here!
i mean guys, you see hiphoppers witg baggy jeans, you see punkrockers with purple hair and tight jeans and all the things that makes a punkrocker..
tell these people that they are not real punkers or real hiphoppers...
what do you think they would say?

im always happy to hear describes about art and how we cant describe what it makes us feel...
however, with all the respect, trance and its "culture" are just one of this era's alternative popolistic interest subjects (among thousands of others).
if u'll look back at the history of art, especially music, many times it was a symbol of a citicism against different things from war and peace to the urban society (its simply called "modern art").
trance, like swing at the forties, like rock at the sixties or punk at the early eighties, managed to make a difference at the early and mid ninetees in some ways, and created a real alternative way of thinking (along with traveling, hallucinogetics, freedom n the rest).
its no wonder that israelies had a tramendes part in the psytrance evolution. unlike the europeans and the rest of the ppl that made it that big, fresh out of the army, discovering freedom of choice, we were ment for it.
today, i think, psytrance is no longer that alternative and isoteric. its mainly commercialize, almost mainstream, especially in our lovely country which every1 made parties, knows a dj, play with cubase and going to very special small getharings with only pretty ppl and dj's from abroad...
i love trance, i love all the fuss around it, butt i love other kinds of music that i can listen to and be interested in their new forms of playing. it came to a point were trance is recycled and repeatative and is not really renewing itself. sorry.
i still think that its one of the best way to have the perfect weekend and fun to listen to, creating it, playing it, and dancing to.

I think it is not that hard. There are a lot of ppl who think of trance as another form of club/festival entertainment. IMHO the initiation rite for trance events is null in most cases.
We are a tribe, a global tribe. So we must aknowledge that ppl who enter our tribe should understand what the basic common principles and vision is. They also have to understand the nature of the ritual and its goal... To trancend this sensory reality and discover the truth about each one of us. We have many paths to do this. Some become Budhist, some Catholics, some Yogis, Some Jewish... Everyone is different, and everyone has its own path to achieve enlightment. We have choosen our path in the trance dance experience, which is as ancient as humanity itself. We believe in a strong conexion that is common to all of us and to everything in the cosmos. A way of living repecting and embrazing our differences, helping each other achieve our goals and our dreams. We love and respect mother nature and planet Earth since it nurtures us. We build our own happiness as we bring happiness to those who surround us. We embrace change and we live the moment. We construct experiences to reflect the basic human principles and emotions... and we dance to celebrate we all have each other. We have in ourselves to change to change our immedite reality.
The music, the psychedelics, the art, is nothing without wisdom and a clear direction. We need to pass on what we have discovered in own personal experience and our own spiritual growth through trance. Then it will be clear for everyone as they experience their own trance ritual.

But of cource... When I was a boy, just like you. The only people I knew that liked Goa was, 1. trippers/freaks and 2. Computer geeks (you know who you are) - I was not a fan of Goa in those young days.
