Quality in Thesaloniki ? You know man how many times Skazi played there?
My mistake Detox to compare Athens with Thesaloniki but i was counting also % .
As for the crowded parties in Athens at 2002-04 didnt enjoy them at all cause in the most of them i was feeling like a sardine in a box ready serve  . Success for me means quality performance from the artist and quality crowd. Dont even want to start talking about the artists that Cyberfunk were keep bringing pffff .
Really dont know what happen to me and i speak about good old time maybe i over exited about the Vibrasphere act and the Moonsun Rec Party next month with Frank E and Christof .
Anyway respect to all people that trying....

Nobody is fighting here we are just chatting,this is what this forum is for no?
Orange i am not talking what Athens could be but i am talking what Athens was and still is and by the way i didnt mention anything about quality but only about quantiny and for me Athens obviously has a bigger crowd attenting parties than Thesaloniki.If tomorrow i announce a party next Saturday at a big club in Athens with a good line up then i will easily have 1000 people,i already mentioned the Astrix and MWNN event last summer at Luv Club.In Thesaloniki less people gather in such events and this is ofcourse mostly a result based on the fact that Thesaloniki is a smaller city than Athens.
Dont mix the fact that big parties dont take place anymore in Athens with the fact that the psy trance crowd in our city is bigger than the one in Thesaloniki.I hope that soon some big events will happen so we can compare with recent examples,i heard some rumours that something is already being planned so lets wait and see.
Yes Thesaloniki is at the moment the psy trance capital of Greece but this is not based on the fact that Salonika has more psy trance people,or better clubs,or better promoters or better whatever,it is mostly based on the fact that the authorities here in the capital are much more strict and the club owners much more insecure in order to host a psy trance event and actually the reason that psy trance parties are not taking place anymore in Athens is the fact that too many people gather at them and the police and some bouzoukia and mainstream club owners are very much annoyed by this situation.
By the way Nurbs if i remember correctly Cyberfunk was working with artists such as Hallucinogen,Logic Bomb,Tristan,Joti,GMS,Infected Mushroom,Astrix and even Franke and Christof Absolum that you so much like,i cant see what was the quality problem with all these artists.
Oh and you cant judge the quality of a city parties just by checking how many times Skazi has played there.

i agree about the quantity of people in athens i never debated that !!
i just said that in salonika many are taking place with big names and different styles something thats missing from athens the last few years!
im really the one that wants to see great events in athens again!!

I agree with Detox...but also keep in mind that people in Salonika are feeling "saturated" with the psy scene...When you take something for granted, then you think that its not a big deal...people in Athens right now are really thirsty for parties...I am sure if something good with big names comes up, over 1000people will gather even in a short notice. |

As for the big names party with the over 1000 people gathering are nice only if you wanna make money . Is that all about ?
Where is the quality in a packed club ? (This my my personal opinion) I m enjoying a party when i m listening to an artist that worthed (not always big names) i have space to dance, dont need 20 min to go to WC or kids are ready to die next me .
I just trying to understand what the people that organize the parties have in their minds and if we are leading for one more time to distraction .
The police problem that you mention, you are 110% correct and that was another reason for the "fall" of the psytrance scene in Athens .

i belive that cyberfunk had up to 1000 people max ,also same with octava parties,
NR6 by the way is another story when the club fit 4000 people and comercial artists and psy artists jioned like tiesto and ticon
or 4 psytrance acts ,there were more than 2000 people ,and mabe these were the biggest parties in Greece till today....but im still not the fact of people to the fact of how nice a party is, Baribobi was 100 people and those were the best parties of our lives..
Parties with 2000 are nice yes i admite is nice image ,but this doent mean that 2000 people had fun, or mabe the had no were else to go that night ,to hear the style they like..but from all the years i seen this sceene , id say best parties thata happened ,were Sunrise Zone - Liquid Love - and Nr6 parties ......i vote on these...many other happened in the past ,but not same vibes.......
and by the way tessaloniki has 3 clubs that owners give each week ,and no cops ever bother the parties....
lets see if we get 1 club in athens each week with 2000 capacity,and cops dont hustle us, lets see what we could do...cose as Detox said in the past athens has shown its teath............

Moonsun I totaly agree with you! We had the best of times especially in Plato which was an amazing club to party in! The vibes were incredible...! Also I remember that at the door the security could recognise who should and shouldn't go inside, correctly! And the chances that somebody would steal you were pritty small. (i hope that the same will happen now at Kox Box party, based on the party details I saw)Now regarding the Salonica VS Athens I have little to say about...I'm from Athens but I fall in love with Salonica because of Neraida and because of the vibes but ofcourse there were still (steal?) problems....! ( I lost one super rietveld jacket this NYE but didn't let it ruin my night) (shame to all of you that come just to open bags in a party) |

i am sorry about your jacket...assholes are everywhere trying to take advantage of other people having fun...happened to me as well...well almost....we cought him as he had his hand in my jacket trying to take money out...you can imagine what happened next 
Also I agree with you...Neraida has very good vibes as a place for psy parties...

But u can't compare our scene nowadays, or generally Greece with some years before... When hearing this music was massive !!!
Without offensing anybody there were times we had better parties than salonica, but these days are over...

Some years ago we had great events and great names coming over...
Alsos, X'' movie theater and Battery where the beginning, continuing in Barybopi, Alimos beach e.t.c...
Unforgetable parties !!!

We should not forget also those free parties at polytehnioupolh in athens with,man with no name,electric universe,joti,...etc and more than 4000 people joined and celebrate together in nature,what better than those events wich are happened after 2000 year...

guys look ,we should not be ungreatfull. any thing that happens is good small or big, big is more impressive but doesnt meen is always best in music standerdes....what gopenish is saying is right ,with mikes support some free parties were held with 5000, also people like cyberfunk, trancmedia, sunrize zone, liquid love ,octava,all had there good moment and there bad 1s, the piont is not what happend, they point is what will happen ,and till know 3 years ,parties are going smothly, some big some small 1s, and people having fun, so we all must hope more parties happen ,big and nice 1s like mike says and smaller 1s to have something moving all the time so people dont get board......

Big events will always have serious problems in terms of that you never know what may happen with so much insane crowd gathered at the same time in one place. Since this is an open public forum we don't want to mention about what kind of episodes we are facing as organisers in such events. Our eyes and souls are strongly and eternally stamped with the worst things we could ever imagine.
But on the other hand we also have the best moments keep on leading our plans.
We are still ravers and ppl who knows us well, they sure know that only one thing can stop us from this madness
Anyway it is an honour for thessaloniki's organisers to see ppl from athens to speak with the best words for parties in our city.
We really hope that athens will rise again we have already talked about this matter several times on this forum btw.
