as a wanna be dj ive notised that the effect of something people recognise is outside of the psy scene is killer.
ive seen people walking away from the dance floor run back screaming when they hear prodigy remixes |

id love to see a remix of 'funky shit' that acidic bassline has got to be used !!
IMO prodigy remixes is all well and good - but only for the melodies and for a few seconds at that - an artist shouldnt overuse the track...
eskimo seems to have the formula down
ps the new prodigy album is awful - so sad...
It is by will alone I set my mind in
motion.
It is by the juice of Sapho that thoughts
acquire speed -
The lips acquire stains -
The stains become a warning - blah, blah , blah! |

Oh my, I've been eagerly awaiting this 4th album for the last seven years, checking updates every week, and I learn it is out 3 weeks after the release ! Shame on me. I'll go buy it tomorrow !
Seems there's indeed a lot of controversial points of view about the quality of the album. Since I've never found a single Prodigy track that I didn't like, I guess I can buy it blindly anyway.

i agree with kakoolalajwal.. the remixes are plain BAD! they took the original, adjusted the BPM , added some kickdrum and bass and u got a new track.. the original prodigy tracks (especially the ones in "music for the jilted generation") are masterpieces.

I personally prefer ”Experience” with tracks like ”Out Of Space” and ”Jericho” – fucking amazing album.
Concerning the “remixes”, most of them I’ve heard at parties have indeed just been “add full on bassline” productions, but I do think Eskimos remix stand out. Not that I’m a huge fan of him though.

I'm not big fan of Prodigy nor Eskimo, but i honostly think that his remix of Voodoo People is filled with power, imho much more then the orginial (And it’s the only track Eskimo made that I like)

This is "IMveryHO" something dangerous for the scene..
If more and more people are expecting "superhits" that they've heard again and again and again... Then WE are much closer to the Pop Scene than we can imagine..
I mean this is the behaviour of teenagers going to the same bars/pubs/discotheques every week-end with always the same music that everybody knows by heart..
Which could be fun okay.. for 5 minutes or so.. LOL !
This is precisely what I'm trying to avoid by going to electronic music parties..
I want to hear new things ! To dig different stuff ! (and I DON'T mean unreleased stuff)
Once again thank you in example to Dark Soho.. This is what I would define as a true remix.. (Save Me God). Work on the seed choice, work on the new flow and so on.. work work work..
Bravo guys !
