Do you think that "Little Fluffy Clouds" by The Orb is a good song or is getting more credit than it deserves ?

I think it lives up to it's name as I live in northern Arizona and I see the little fluffy clouds more often than not. But in my opinion, "Appletree in my Backyard" is the new and improved concept of it.

One of the most jaw-droppingly brilliant tunes I ever heard.

I play it in every DJ set.

I had a young German guy come up to me whilst I was playing it at Samothraki 2003 to ask me;

"What is this new sound you are playing?!?!"

"Little Fluffy Clouds" was the tune that made me realise I could like dance music back in the early 90's...

I actually dig the song myself. Do you have any advice for someone who'd like to mix in some chillout in with other music ? I'm practicing to be a pro dj and could use all the help I can get.

Musically, maybe I agree with you. However, there are so many memories associated with the fluffy clouds, and the sample is so brilliant (not to say that the appletree sample is not) that it gets to me every time.           Load Universe into Cannon. Aim at Brain. Fire.

It's a great nostalgic track indeed and plenty of fun remixes available to listen to as well it's just that I listened to it so much when that CD was one of the few good "electronic" albums I had at the time so appletree seems so much more spring fresh for me now.

Much respect for spinning the classics, Ott^. Great to hear this.

i have "just" the aubrey mixes cd with a remix by pal joey of "little fluffy clouds".
the track is still fantastic, infact the whole album is great and has this unique vibe of the chill/ambient music of the early '90s that is very gentle and warm like your favourite snuggling blanket

when it first hit, it was groundbreaking...

memories of damp house in tottenham, lsd creeping up my spine... mad car journeys home during the morning rush hour... orb live at brixton academy...

we brought the orb to montreal in 93 for their first canadian show...

dr alex enjoyed mixing cognac and chocolate milk, beatmatched terribly and played golf instruction records while thrash manned the 64 channel board

thrash and greg hunter were the real geniuses behind the orb sound
