Without a doubt the OLD Infected. Everything went downhill after "Classical Mushroom" IMO. I remember when I couldn't wait for them to come out with something new (around the time when BP Empire was expected...which was a total dissapointment but for a few trax). Now Id rather not check out their music cuz it'll just annoy me to no end. Its just a matter of taste...some like it...I don't.

well it seems most of the "real" psytrancers dont fancy their new stuff.. But if you ask the younger people, they will say that they love Infected Mushroom (CV and IM the supervisor) Especially the kids in Isreal. So to me it seems that IM has gone pop. Just look at http://www.infected.co.il Its filled with kids that dont have a clue about what psytrance is. They say they love psytrance.. But how can they love psytrance if they only like and know of the new IM material? (Is this the new generation of psytrancers? Hope not.) Of cource IM's new stuff has great production.. But so does Britney Spears .. So it's not all about if the production is great or not. Its about the feelings and passion in the music.. The trippynes and so on.
No mistake.. IM showed me the magical world of psytrance 5 years ago with Classical Mushroom, so i will always be Infected. But i just feel kinda dissapointed. If this is what they realy want to do / make, grrrrreat. But if its about money and world domenation ... ?

OK guys, easy on the comparison please.
I guess I'm a "fake" psytrancer since I like the new Infected tracks, as well as their old styleS, even though I've been in the psy scene since 1995. Always this elitist BS...
And comparing IM to Britney Spears is perhaps a little bit out of proportion, don't you think ?
Last thing : it seems to be the new hype in a lot of places in the world (not in France apparently though) to say with disgust that IM's sold out. OK, everyone is entitled to his own opinion, and if that's what you came to believe, fine with me. But I'm pretty sure there are some people stating such things just to sound "cool". Kind of ironic if you ask me...

hey hey hey hey... lax man. I said most and i used "real" (read all of the threads.) And i compared the good production of B. Spears to IM. Not the music but the production And by all means.. I love Infected.. they started it all for me.. I got everything they done in original cd's. It seems you misunderstood the whole point of my thread .. Or maybe it was my foult for not explaining my self good enough ?

No problem psytones, I got your message loud and clear. I well understood that in your mind IM's music's got nothing to do with Britney's.
My post was general, not meant at you at all. I guess your opinion on IM is sincere and I respect that. I just used your message as an occasion to explain my point of view.

classical (and a comp called psychedelic krembo)was the first trance i ever heard at a tender age of 14 i was hooked immediatly and i will always be an infected mushroom suporter.
ive now heard im the supervisor and it was alright...
ill still buy it to support the artists but it was only great the first time i listened to it (much like trance side of cv) and i think that the twisted, tripped out, make you wanna hear it 4 years later magic is not there... (can you here me crying)

... sometimes (even though i hate to say this) i think that im has outgrown trance. at this point in thier carrier i think that they should work a bit on thier freestyle stuff (duvdev can sing to his hearts content and it wont bother me on the dance floor. its not that i think he shouldnt sing its just that vocals in trance is not really my cuppa tea)
im waiting with bated breath at the flak im gonna get for this post... |

hehe.. I see your point Clown. But see this. Infected Mushroom is the number 1 leading psyact in the world. No one is bigger then them. And 20 september they are realising a new album. Of cource people want to talk about it. If you dont like it, dont read it. After the album is realised, i bet theres gonna be several more posts like this. But after a while things will cool down. See my point? Its just a natural thing going on here. And i think its a good thing that people feel so passionate about this. Maybe all of these posts will have a impact on IM's next album? maybe not..

"if you ask me "the gathering" is mediocre at best.. never liked it.."
somewhat agreed. i think there are several great tracks (esp "Virtual Voyage" when it peaks), but the album also has a lot of bad sample usage and plodding moments.
BP Empire has a sound i could listen to forever. the tracks are closer to progressive psy, and they have enough muscle to sound good when mixed (unlike Classical IMO). some very tasteful music is on BPE.
a few tunes on CV recapture the BPE feeling (Yanko Pitch), and the Other Side shows you what direction they could explore.
i also think IM has outgrown the close-mindedness of psytrance. i don't like a lot of their new music, and the last time i saw them live was one of the biggest disappointments of my party life, but i still want to hear them release good music.
the Cat On Mushroom 2004 tune is pretty pounding, and it made me smile like hell the first time i heard it. they can still make hard stuff, so let's hope for the best... |

its not cheesy at all.. infact it gets psycho and on .. but i dont like to listen to it always unlike their other ever green tracks.
sailing in the sea of mushroom is the one of the best track which has always sounded different to me ..too good.
converting veg is a very different style but sure psychedelic.. dont know why it cant be called psychedelic .. psychdelics is in ur mind.. for me even the other side is psychedelic.
i am waitin for the Superwiser to release on saiko... my mind is still at a point after listenign the samples that am gonna buy the original as the stuff inside will not die.
i think its same thing ppl saying metallica sucks n when they went to mainstream.. same is happning with infected..
why dnt u ppl take it in this way.. if their albums go to normal ppl they will atleast come to know psytrance is not as bad they think it is or rather percept it.. they will might just care to listen to other psy stuff.. and understnad its goodness..
i know bitching gives u buzz but dont be so hungry guys !!
