The Mystery of the Thirtheen Crystal Skulls (TIP World, 2001)
1. Alien Project- The First Revelation part one 8:58
2. Cyberbabas- The First Revelation part two 8:57
3. Doof- The Second Revelation 11:41
4. Logic Bomb- The Third Revelation 11:04
5. GMS and 1300 Mics- The Fourth Revelation 12:06
6. Absolum- The Fifth Revelation 11:46
7. Shpongle- The Sixth Revelation 12:17

It's the first time in a while that I get my greedy hands on a TIP World compilation and it turned out to be a very pleasant experience. The mystic concept is nice (check this for more: http://www.crystalskullsociety.org/), the cover by Brahma is amazing, and most important I really enjoy the music. It's morningish, complex, diverse, psychedelic and fun, and also melted nicely together to a long story.
Alien Project & Astrix start with the part 1 of The First Revelation. This is a very shpongle & Infected Mushroom influenced tune, a thing that does not hurt its beauty. It develops and builds up slowly and it'' a very powerful piece of music. Cyberbabas give the second part with a more progressive tune with those scando dubby sequences and a great magical morning feel. Then Doof does the doofy thing, morning madness of the good old times' type, nothing special though. I really don't like the samples except for the telephone trick. Logic Bomb continue with the Third Revelation with 3 Jonases this time and a track that totally fails to move me. The Fourth Revelation is the surprise of this compilation for me- GMS+Chicago+BabaRaja with a complex full on track full of parts and turns, it's been a while since I've heard a full on track you can really dive into and find good food for the mind. Christof, as to be expected, delivers the hardest and most pounding track here. It's been a while since I've connected with an Absolum track, but this one is great. It's very atmospheric- dark of course- with some real acidic feel to it, moving groove, and with some surprising funky bits that made me smile. I'm waiting to dance with this one. To soft things for your brain you get Shpongle. It does the job of course. Simon never fails to produce sounds that sound new and move something inside, and Raja's flute keeps soothing your mind and carry it to others places. Beautiful, especially the first part.

Bottom Line: Excellent psytrance experience- highly recommended. Favorites: 1, 2, 5, 6, 7.

Funny that my two favorites, the Logic Bomb and the Doof track, are the only ones that aren't in your favorites.
Very nice review, just a little late.

Different strokes... :-)

Why late? Is the tracks' quality deteriorating in two months? Can't you get the CD at the stores anymore? Weird remark.

IMhO, one of the best releases of 2001 !!!

as Shahar allready said: "It's morningish, complex, diverse, psychedelic and fun, and also melted nicely together to a long story"

a combintation of the most telented artist that the Trance have to offer: posford&raja, Gms, doof, absolum, logic bomb ... Should i add more ??

i found this complication very Chilly and Scrachy at the time . its contains a very powerful and spirtual feeling in it !
u just have to sit back and relax .

what an amazing expiraince !

Get it get it get it !!! fasssst !

its an amzing disc and concept of music.
really different and unusuall in his kind, which btw is an unfamiliar - in every track u can find ups and downs, full on,low beats, almost ambient while progressive - very unusuall but great to hear. tip have succeeded again
