hehe surrender nice one friend. I also am on the ground floor and both my sides are empty.but on top theres some lady which i havent encountered yet. but I have to know my limitations too

1)Respect the laws in your country concerning the times when you can make noise and listen to music.In Greece this times are from 8AM till 2PM and from 6PM to 10PM,check out the times in your country by calling your local police department 
2)Dont listen to music in extremely high decibels,i mean its bad for you,bad for the music (cause you cannot hear it clearly hehe) and bad for the neighbours
I think these two things will solve your problem.

Sorry but what is this was the other way around and the nurse would keep you up with loud folk music during the daytime, how would you go about things?

I doubt there'd be any trouble if this was the other way around, cause if she had loud music on in the day:
1. She wouldn't complain about my music.
2. I wouldn't hear her music, cause I'd be blasting mine!!
Also, hehe, someone asked if she was young?..... I wish she was like 22, just out of college and shit....hehehe...  but no, she's like 38, pretty hefty and not in the least bit attractive.....So I'm out of luck!

Trouble!
I didn't want to be hard on you in my earlier posts. I understand you a bit better now and see your tricky situation.
You can try hanging up the bass box as well, if it's heavy it won't swing and disturb the sound. Of course that will lead the bass vibration more upwards, but maybe that's better.

find out what time she goes to work and blast the music at night...
and tell the fukin cop that till 10 you can blast legally, you gotta enforce your rights too...we all now how nice the cops in the US are...
but i guess u should keep the decibels to normal not tooo high..

Oh, come on now, a bit of effort, once you have gotten into her, the problem will go away pretty soon...
But if this doesn't work, put books under your speakers, and if this also doesn't do the job then buy SHEETBLOK from Auralex, this for sure will resolve your problem.

Police can't take you to jail. Till 10pm you can make the noise you want, but since you live on a apartment (am i right?) there are some rules of convivence with the neighbours. When i have my music way too loud, neighbours call by interphone and then i low the volume. But police? nah... once i called them because there was a noisy party in front of my building and a fighting started and one of the fighters had a gun, didn't shoot but he had cause i saw it. I called the police and i'm still waiting for them...
