Just a question. Anyone knows the difference between dynaudio bm6 and the mkII version? Actually the mkII version is half the price at an online store so how can à newer version be so much cheaper? Is it a light version? |

I am so sorry, i was looking at the bm5. But still, there is 300$ difference/piece for bm6 it's at thomann.de i am not sure what i am missing. 600$ is a lot of nice studio equipment/software when you are on à budget |

i guess tc as the crap company they are needed to make more money on them so they raised the price of the old ones and get a montior costing less to produce at the original price of the mk1... it s just speculation but wouldnt be surpised it s the truth.
from what i read from somone who got both in his studio, they sound slighty different but won t change any mixing desicion. i never listened to them but i remember a frriend upgraded and like more the mk2 after using mk1 for years... but better you judge by yourself
i m not sure at all but they replaced the amps if i m right to some costing less, and added a bigger cabinet on the new one. |

They did some cost cutting measure and released the new version, but they kept the old version alive since it had a very good reputation on its own.
I think little less amplifier power in the new one.I think the new one cant be that much different so go for it if the saving counts.

I'd say you should be ok mixing with subs, but remember to check how it translates on other systems, and most importantly, see if your room acoustics are ready for the added frequencies. If your room is untreated and really small, I'd say forget about it.
Cheers.

if you consider to buy from Thomann i just can advice you to make a request at smaller studio shops like http://digitalaudioservice.com/
they will usually give you a way better price, most of the times there is space for a good deal..
cheers

Hey I'm looking to get some monitors for a smaller size room.
I read through a lot of this thread and people recommended
Adam A7's and Dynaudio Dynaudio Acoustics BM5A MKII, and those look like they'd be good, but with the smaller room, too much bass bouncing around might be an issue.
I found Adam A5's for a lot cheaper than the A7's, and was wondering if anyone has tried them, or can recommend any other speakers that would have bass for a smaller room, but would be less expensive.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
