Hey kane, got your cables. My link of ebay was a scam just lost 10 dollars. Anyway, the monitors are working fine now, maybe it will better when i got the soundcard, but i really liked the monitors, now i know why is so important in producing.

Did you ever get a decent cable? Still recommend that Whirlwind if you can find one from a reputable seller. Make sure you file a claim with eBay too..

I posted about this a few pages back regarding my Alesis Monitor Ones and the right speaker sounding off. I thought I had fixed it but the problem seems to be back and worse.
Basically, it sounds fine until you get down into the low frequencies so it's probably the woofer. At about 60hz and onwards you can start hearing quite a nasty buzz or distortion. But the higher end of the low frequencies sound fine.
Basically, is it possible that the woofer is blown or damaged enough that it only produces this distortion at certain frequencies?
I'm able to get a fairly good deal on some replacement woofers so I'm not sure whether to do it. If it doesn't work, I can't return it. |

Just order a bass driver and replace the damaged one. I've changed both bass drivers over the years I've been using the Alesis Monitor 1's. Its really easy, just make sure you don't wire the driver the wrong way round and you get all the frequencies from the bass driver, coming out out of phase.

hello there!
i'm in search to buy my new monitors to use them for psychedelic trance production and i'd like your precious help!
My badget is around 1700 euros
Would you suggest me to buy dynaudio bm6a or adam p22a?
Has anyone heard them or used them for psytrance production?
Or can someone suggest me a better pair in that price range?
Thanx in advance

honestly it is not very clever to buy monitors (a pair) for 500 bugs...
you r better of save another 3 month or so...and buy some really decent monitors, on wich you can develop at for several years...but with some kind of 500€ monitors you will realize very soon, it was just a waste...
honestly....
