gutter,
tnx for your help,
it sound that you really like the solo 6,and enjoy to work with them.
i know that my next set will be focal's, just at the moment im not shore with one - solo 6 or twin 6......its not about the money, its the size - if i had bigger room, without thinking i'll go with the twin.
tell me,maybe you had the chance to check the twin 6 as well?
and if so,what you think about the twin compare to the solo?

i didnt have the chance to hear the twins
they were out of my budget also
but i still would not buy them cause if u save some money and buy the solo6 sub , then its all over
a pair of twins costs about 2300euros
and a pair of solo6 with the sub about 2600euros , so theres no point thinking about it

well, its truth if you save a bit more you can have the focal sub 6 + solo 6,if you like to work with sub, this is nice option.....
but i dont like subs coz its 2.1 ,and this not stereo any more, unless you going to have 2 subs (2.2), and this cost to much....
this is way im thinking about the twin's,coz i know the solo's got nice low end, tight and clean, but im afarid a bit coz every where im reading about the solo 6,the people all most all ways ending with sub....so in the end the twin's cost less.
but any way my problem is that im working in small room (5m X 2.30m,with acoustic treatment),so im not shore if the twin's will a bit big for my room or not.....

see mate ..
this is headache ... for now no money exists even for one sub ,, so
keep on the solos ,, my room is small too
and anyway im happy with the bass

the think is that there is SOOOO much concerning about the SWEEt LoViNG low Frequencies in this music
but i reaally

find few artists having REAlllY so beautiful & tight MixES on those frequencies,,
and
there are THOUSANDS that use HI EnD gear and still sound MUDDY ,, even with DYnAS or FoCAlS or VIrus or NOrd Leads
and shit and still make not so interesting difference
so its about practice or talent or both
and even some big artists mixes can b muddy
has anyone heard of a pre-mastered mix
from someone well known artist ,, to be sure that his mix is perfect ??? i havent to tell the truth..
i mean that even these people/pros send their work
to master engineers to make the final tightness and this sound didnt came from their homes for sure..
its about knowing your equipment
exercise exercise exercise -- headache -- and so on...

any one have any experience with Event range of monitors??

the tr8 looks tastey!!

would it be correct to go for ones with the broadest frequency range? cos that's how i'm gonna shortlist!
i'm not gonna be adding sub monitors for a while!!

appreciate the feedback!!

B'om Shanti B'om!!

I just got the TR6's today. They're my first pair of monitors so I can't really give much real criticism, but so far so good. The bass response in the 8's (which i heard in the store) was better, but my budget is pretty limited. I talked to somebody who had the TR8s and he said they were accurate and he really enjoys them (not a producer of psy, but electronica & such).

I'm definitely impressed and really glad I decided to go for these (as well as monitors in general).

I haven't gone through this whole thread, but I will put in my two cents.
I've been using the Samson Rubicon R5A monitors paired with an M-audio SBX subwoofer for about a year and a half, and it is just about the cleanest and sweetest sound I have heard from a monitoring system at any price range (and I got it on a budget). The R5As use a ribbon tweeter which makes a large difference in my opinion. Traditionally ribbons are very expensive but Samson figured out a way to mass produce them cheap without sacrificing quality. The best way I can explain it is that the high frequencies feel more like they float on top of the lower frequencies, where traditional hi drivers sound like they push the high frequencies, coloring them in the process.
Excellent clarity with complex high frequencies, and the sub adds the perfect low end. In short, great system for Psytrance monitoring.
From what I've heard of other monitors (especially m-audio having owned a pair previously, yek!) this is the best deal in the price range. I bought the SBX for just $199 with shipping, it was a total deal, if you can find them these days they are more in the $400 range, I believe the model has been discontinued. I think the R5as can be bought in the $300 range.

dude, save your two sents.....maybe in few years you gona save enough money to get a real monitor system....

now serious, maybe its good set up for 500$ ,but dont say its the "cleanest and sweetest" sound at any price range....

fair enough. I'll admit I have limited experience with high end monitors, but in my experience a good mix with R5as translate into a good mix on any system.
I've also noticed that ear fatigue takes much longer with this system than any other system I've had experience with, probably because of the ribbons.

hi guys, i got a few questions... im new in making electronic sound!

i made some tracks with my 20 € soundsystem^^ and now im stucked in the mixing thing, because i dont really hear what im doing with this cheap stuff.

i have 350€ for the monitors (do i have to buy a subwoofer too?) and i really wont pay more.
i think for 350€ the monitors should be good enough for making more than 1 year music without being constricted by the monitors.

a.t.m. my favourite “band” is vibe tribe, do you know what this monitors costs and whats their name:
http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/5855/vtstudioeb1.jpg

do you have any other suggestion for monitors?

I really dont want to waste my 350€ to any gimp monitors. Should i go in to a audio shop and ask the personal? I really think some of those people are incompetent, thats why i ask you.

Greetings, orgy

Hi!
Monitors on the pic is the Dynaudio BM6A, they are very populer on psy productions cose of good low end responce, but i'm afraid they cost more than u can spend atm http://www.justmusic.de/item/recording-monitoring-studio-monitore-dynaudio-bm6a-active-nearfield-7-65-9-8927.html
alternative with your prce range IMHO SAMSON Resolv 50 a http://www.justmusic.de/item/recording-monitoring-studio-monitore-samson-resolv-50-a-aktivmonitor-paar-7-65-9-9423.html i had them about 1 year and i must say they good anough for the begining + they very powerfull

Good Luck!

ill suggest the Tascam VL-A series (the new ones)
or if u find the VLX-5 (had them--previous model,,they have bigger cabin) they are at this range of money
and do a descent job , then there are the KRKs or MAudio
