Just add some coments about Behringer 2031A
8" Woofer - 75W High Freq / 150W Low Freq
Sound: Really good about the quality, nice bass and awesome on mid and high freqs, the stereo is very good too.
Installation: Just read the manual, 15 min its all working, including room compensation.
Power: Good enougth to make your parents crazy...
Style: Not a E.T stuff, looks like a old style enclosure hard and solid... and very fat. I like it, but could be more rounded.
PS.: I have a subwoofer working together, with then off i miss a litle off pressure. They are perfect to work adding a subwoofer to the setup, but i dont think its a NEED, they have punch too. www.myspace.com/luunnaaproject

I'm wanting to upgrade my monitors, How much of a difference are the Dynaudio Bm6a's to the Dynaudio Bm5a's? Money is a real issue for the next 1 1/2 years so if the Bm5a's stand up, I'd like to go that route.
Anybody have experience with these in comparison?

You can't blame the monitors for bad mixes, it could be the acoustics in the room. I use BM6A's & my mixes are fine in the low end department.
What's important is having acoustic treatment in your room. Its no use having $4000 monitors if you've got a crappy mixing environment.

the mackies have serius issues with controlling the low end and they sound to boomy..
i have worked with them for about 3 months and never liked them i needed to adjust the bass in the tracks to much to get a nice sound that translated bad in other systems.
this doesn't occur in my bass light bm5a or in the huge and bass heavy genelec 8050.
adams a7 luck in the low end that isn't a bad thing just makes the mix more tricky to make ok.
as if the Adams aren't in the same league... a7 are good low budget monitors.. u really get what u pay but they have nothing in common (except the ribbon tweeter) with their big brothers.

Lol, we've gone in a big circle now. Okay so, in the bm5a range, those are one of the best then? I really don't think I can afford bm6a's for at least a couple years (school is taking up all my money right now). I know there are a few others in that range, such as some Krk's I think, the Adam A7's & the Mackie HR624's.
I really need something with a tight low end, even if it isn't quite as loud, it just needs to be really clear and defined.
I think I might be able to demo the HR-624's and the Bm5a's, but that is it in my area....
Is it possible to make fully professional tracks just using the bm5a's? I mean will I be able to tell whats going on with the low end? I have beyerdynamic dt-770 headphones too if that helps.
I've heard of people using good headphones to make up for so so monitors (in some areas).
I have tons of knowledge, now I need to be able to hear what I'm doing...

Anyone knows a website about studio monitors news? new stuff and prices, etc? I'm saving 5000 euros for something very good when it comes out! It sucks that monitors that came out 1 year ago still cost the same |
