My baby loves to try to attack the monitors.
Luckily the Tannoys is concave to start with.
I don't think it's much of an issue, but you should be able to carefully pop it out again using a needle or some tape.

how bad is it when u accidentaly push the center of the cone of the buffer? it isnt broken just now a little convex... if u know what i mean. my baby got to punch it right in the middle , someone told me its no big deal cause its some sort of protection. the sound it still nice by the way. those are alesis m1 mk2... what u think?

Yes, a vacume cleaner. If you use a vacume, keep your finger on the trigger, make sure it's not a high powered shopvac, or something that'll rip your woofer out.
Or, (may sound strange) if you can get your mouth sealed around it and give it a suck. (Worked for me one lonely night)
I work at a music store that the monitors get poked in all the time. Hard to sell that way, so we had to get creative.
And no, it does not really affect your sound in a major way, but looks unsightly everytime you gaze into your speakers for a moment of clarity. (Starting to sound like I have a thing for my monitors.)

Tape useually won't work, and for god sakes, don't put a needle in it. Tried it and all it does is put a hole in your speaker. |

OK so I have a question...
I'm starting to produce right now and don't have really any ambition of becoming professional. All I want is to produce a few tracks of my liking and to be able to reproduce them in other places besides my home (showing friends and stuff)...
Having a low budget, I've decided I'll skip the midi controller part and first buy a pair of studio monitors... I currently produce in a small room of my apartment... the monitors will be facing a wooden cabinet (yep.. no real accoustics in the room) from about 6 feet distance...
I have no need for real absurd power, I just want something that can reproduce with more fidelity the sound I'm creating than those damned little stereo things I've got here... Yesterday I composed a nice little track and recorded it to play on the surround sound of my living room, and guess what? It was pratically a different song
So.. for my needs, and my budget (considering I live in Brazil and audio monitors here are really expensive), I could afford something like a M-AUDIO BX5A ...
My question is: for that price, could I get something better?
Thanks in advance |
