there is a difference between the ns10 and the emu... in the ns10 if something sounded good it would sound good everywhere in the emu if a mix sounds good propably it would need another 10 hour mixing in some proper monitors to really sound good everywhere!

I'm not going to make an argument out of this Atropa........ but I know a few people who are releasing music who use EMU PM5's, and their music is sounding very well mixed. Not to mention that these monitors were also recommended by a sound engineer, who could've easily sold me other monitors that were priced more.
You're right that NS10's are more reliable....... but I was proving a point. Many many people would tell you that NS10's sound horrible, but they wouldn't mix on anything else.
Alesis MK's sound alright....... but I would never mix on them. There good for someone who wants speakers for a small project studio, but for people that need something reliable, don't bother (IMO)

i have friends releasing music and working on hifi speakers cost 50e but this is not the point here.. thing is that u buy a monitor for its neutral sound stereo imaging and clarity!
in my ears those sound very bad and boxy i would not recommend but if they sound ok to u thats fine by me!

Just see how your mixes translate on to other systems..With time you'll learn your monitors and realise whatever fault they might have & how to fix it so your mixes translate better..

I have a question about Studio Monitors.
Ok, I'm planning to make music on my PC, but I also want something good for home listening.
Are studio monitors good for home listening? Or should I switch out them for something designed for home listening when I want to listen to music. |

My recommendations:
Event TR5/6/8s or ALPs.
If you can push your budget: Adam A7s, with an Adam Sub 8.
I've tried Alesis, Samson, Tannoy, Yamaha, M-Audio and Tapco monitors in the same sort of price range, and they don't stack up to Event or Adam's. |

Hey chischis,
how did you like that sub8/a7's combo? Ok, it's clear that you liked it, but can you tell me more about sub 8s' sound and did you hear any problems related to phase and crossover frequencies? Im considerding that sub for my a7's and I'd like to hear more about it. Greetz ,
I. |

okay
crap I cannot save anymore money, I was thinking of getting the Samson Rubicon r5a's but I REALLY want something with adequate enough bass so Idon't have to buy a subwoofer for awhile....are these adequate?? for example, I heard the yamaha hs50ms and they sound amazing but dont have very much bass AT ALL.. these are about in the same range, price wise... any thoughts?

heya ppl , i have a question , i got my bm6a some time back , and in the packing of the monitors were these coushions/pads(the packing to hold the monitors nice and tight and for the monitors to be safe while they are being transported in the box) , so is it ok to place these packing pads/coushions under the monitors instead of keeping them straight on the table/stands , will it hamper the sound in some way ? i mean these pads are perfecty cut to hold the monitors nicely! , if someone understand the question pls do answer
