guys, i dont think im using the kicks in this thread properly, infact, i dont think im using any of the kicks correctly!
lets say, i grab a POF kick throw it in impulse in live and draw 4 X 1/16th notes in a bar...by itself, it sounds very weak doesnt it? what has to go on the channels chain as far as VSTs are concerned and what volume should it be compared to the Bass...cuz the kick alone with eqing doesnt sound that great, unless there is something that i dont no here...please anyone, if you could put me in the right track it would be greatly appreciated...
what would you guys use for processing the kick??
thanks guys for everythin'

make notes a bit longer. check velocity settings in sampler. or just load as audio.
actually the kicks sound already good. thanks to remy here. well done with taging the root key.
u can compress, i wouldn't. eq with bass playing if needed. distortion can work nice but no must at all. rest is already in the sine (square). i prefer using own kicks but the pof's sound good imo. so just leave them, adjust the length and make bassline fit |

Guys what type of compression do you usually use on Kicks? i know is a complex matter but im kind of stuck on this issue.
Ive been trying with sidechain of course and a multiband comp, but doesnt seems enough, i dont know a limiter maybe? |

thanks for the advice, interesting
Im also having little bit of a problem, i make my kicks with Bazzism and then use Battery to fine tune and maybe tweak the envelopes if necesary, and i dont know why my kick sounds distorted, but when i sample the kick directly without battery the distortion disappears.
what can i do to avoid that?

I was wondering what people do here for their kick drum. Do you use a plug-in to create your own, or do you use a sample audio clip? What do you think the advantages/disadvantages are to doing it that way?
I've heard both sides of the argument as to which is better to use so I guess it's a preference thing. What are other people's thoughts?

Okay freeks
I was wondering if pros add subs to their kicks, like with the well know technique in techno/house (sine wave with sidechain gate) ? Have u heard about it ?
Most of the time u have this tiny ping pong kick (hipassed) but sometimes u find big fat kicks in psy production.
