i donno this particular synth but usually u need to take one oscallator with a sine wave (u can use pitch and fine tune if u'd like to)
Make sure that you are synthesizing freequencies around 55-100 hz area
Then adjust ADSR settings
I know it sounds shit at this stage but its your imagination to make it work
Guess it helps |

I've tryed that but never came close to most of the kick samples i've got.
It's not hard to do the infect type of kick in any synth... just a sine and a pitch envelope... however it never comes close to the samples you can easily get on the net and sample CDs, mostly because of the click at the beggining, however i stopped trying...

Does anybody have any Hyperion Stomper tips... am trying to get a sound similar to 1200 Mic's kick in "Mayan's Incas and Aztecs" but am failing
all i really need to know is how you get the fat rounded dynamic shape of both the click and the kick... any tips would be amazing!
Peace |

Many thanks Pavel!
Definitely some of those kicks going into my tracks!
It would still though be interesting to know in greater detail about how you can synthesize (e.g. in Hyperion Stomper) kicks like those samples from scratch, I don't personally know enough about it and it could be very useful for other people beginning with drum synthesis
Peace! |

been working with hyperion stomper more... and have worked out a way to make really good, tight clicky kicks:
try this:
2 oscillators, the first is a short sine pitchbend lasting up to 15 milliseconds, change both pitch curve and amplitude as you wish -
second osc, make a longer pitch bend, with a deep curve beginning at 15 milliseconds. Again play with the envelopes as you wish..
Lastly: open up the exported wav file in Wavelab and fade in from 15 ms to approx 30ms or whatever you feel is right...
This creates a round 1200mics style clean kick that is (imo) perfect for mixing with - but in essence unoriginal sorry for the vague terms but it's up to the artist

Try using sound forge like on the infected musroom site but set the hertz at 60 and the time at o.5 - now use an evelope to dent the wave in at 25 % now use pith bend to compress the wave a aquird for the front section and then when you are satisfied with the front section ( The click ) do the back part - it is very important to let you frequincy range flow gradiataly through the kick so alway keep the point of 0% pithbend more or less at the same spot taking the front section up and the bottom section down rember to cut you kick to required leght before pitchbended the back section otherwise you will cut away certian lower freq. - you can basicly create any kind of kick you want by playing around with evelopes , pitchbend in sound forge - then extra efects or eqing can be done in Cubase - also try loading a profesional kick into sound forge or wave lab and try to copy it using simular prosedure -

ok YA to make good mother fucking kick doof drum...
(i mean seriously)
take a drum kit...any old drum kit...um ..shove mic into the backside (the hollow ) of the "bass drum"...this is the big one that stands on its side in the fron of the drum kit....if you look carefully around the back of the kit you will find a large hole in this "bass drum". Take your Mic of choice and place it in the "bass drum" , maybe put a pillow or some blankets in the drum itself to damp it.(this is infact quite important). plug your mic into a preamp(and then into a desk) or if you want straight into the preamps of the desk, this part is relativerly important....cos if you don do this part you wont be able to record anythying....
now for the tricky part....load up your host sequencer...up make a audio track...make sure your inputs and outputs are set correctly....check the levels coming in and out...and remember to avoid clipping(MAJOR TIP). right...you are almost ready to go now...but not quite...this is what i like to call fine tuning the machine...yep...
if you have a hardware compressor..insert it now on the channel you have plug your mic onto...come on dont be lazy ...do it!, set your compression ratio and threshold and release and attack...this is the fun part you can play around with the settings (to do this turn the knobs in either a clockwise or anticlockwise direction on the compressor). Great we are almost there...., some EQ wouldnt hurt either but dont do this just yet...lets play with the "bass drum" now. ok...position yourself behind the dum kick...your right foot should now be sitting on the pedal for the "bass drum", this is infact why it is actually called a kick drum....cos the little lever connected to this pedal which your foot is on..."kicks" the drum , making a doof-like sound...so try it out ....using your foot push down hard on the pedal ...note what happens a doof doof sound occurs....
practice for awhile
right its time now to "record" the "bass drum" , so run over to your sequencer of choice, all setup correctly.(if you are in a different room , dont worry about muting your monitors...otherwise if not please mute your monitors and maybe put some headphones on to monitor(MAJOR TIP))
ok press the RECORD button in youe sequencer, tis is genrally the button with the red circle on it,...you cant really miss it....what this now does is make your mic active...it is now recording...
run over and sit behind the drum kit...put your right foot back on the pedal and thump the "bass drum"...listen carefully in your headphones and note what is coming out..try different dynamics as well...like a medium doof and maybe a little harder doof and then finally a really hard doof.
ok run back to your sequencer of choice and press the stop button..this is the button with the square on it.
ok you now have your very own kick drum sample....edit the waves neatly and save with a filename such as...myrealkickdrum.wav , dont forget to post-record EQ the thing...cut out the highs...for a nice doofy type sound;), show your friends when they come over, use it in your killer fullon pschedelic trance songs and so on.
hope this helps! maybe next week i could do a tutorial in how to make Crystal Sharp like glass Hihats....or not.
