the plugins are nice for sure (talking about uad and duende ,dont know the others ) but no one will notice if you used dsp cards or your sequencer stock plugins in the end .

Can you tell me what VST I should use to get sounds with this clarity and richness?
http://www.johnbowen.com/solaris.html
Can you tell me a VSTi that makes as heavy kicks as KickMeToo?
http://adern.com/home/modules.php?name=products&file=preview&id=7
I know I clearly notice the difference myself on the end result if I use the Scope or not. I really don't care if music I listen to is using only VST's, but when producing it slows me down trying to achieve the same result with VST's as Scope devices.
That's my experience anyway...it might just be a coincidence that many of my favourite plugs are on Scope and I don't really know any reason why VST's would not achieve the same density in sound as Scope synths.

oh man, i think i should buy the cheapest scope only for the Adern modules, they are delicious , i assume they have very tight envelopes too
sonicScope (creamware) was the first company that used the shark dsp's btw, i give them one more credit for that, now uad 2 also use them
one suggestion i could make is that if you are going for a TC powercore, dont buy the X8, it might be the "big" one with lots of dsp's etc, but really dont worth the money at all, better go for the pci-pcie cards with 4dsp's, after all theres not much use for the firewire stuff imho ,, with the same money you can buy two different dsp's

for laptop use its the only way, youre write, i was referred on desktops , didnt mention sorry, but again its too much money for the X8, wasted imho, go for the small firewire the older version or the compact for much less money even a used one in good condition
youll have your job done for sure
plugins are good imo, the two reverbs , the SH101 emulation, filtroid for creative and weird filtering and a couple of others
but better save your money and buy some more "cutting edge" plugs like the Vss3 or the new Tap Factory which is incredible and creative hybrid that combines delay&reverb functions ,, but anyway all these costs as u can understand (i think Vss3 is round 400euros!)
anyway laptops are not so versatile unfortunately and limit your purchases
hope that helps

Yes, the Flexor envelopes is really tight.
With the precision envelopes you can have 1 sample attack and release...which is a bit extreme and will result in a click, but it's nice that you can trim the values to just before they start clicking if you want to.

I've just bought the Cambridge EQ for UAD1. It's very nice and precise. The Hipass filter has several modes. Among them, the 'elliptic 6' is a very sharp high pass filter which sounds very good. Is anybody using it ? Interesting thing about this EQ is that you can run a lot of them even on UAD1. |
