Hey Carbonic,
might be better to put these kind of questions in the workshop section. But to answer your question: your bass doesnt sound bad at all. Maybe pull back the decay/ release a little to get it some tighter. But it sounds pretty decent to me as it is. And maybe cut below 30-40 herz.

i really like to experiment with bass sounds that don't even are basses, because i try to differ from the sound and basslines that are heard so often !
with ableton live it's very easy to stretch and warp and deform bass sounds. you can set a single short bass sound on the 1.3...and then for the next just stretch it so that the sound reaches from the 2 to the 3 (a sidechain or an automation maybe needed for it)...and then a short one again on 3.2 and 3.3 and 3.4 maybe and a long one again...
you can even set it off the 4/4
also a good trick is to use a kicksound as a bass and create a fine double bass. this may needs some work on the transients and EQing but it works if you like to differ a masterpiece of example is Sensient's "Guns'n Ammo"

I make my bass with any source possible ,my korg ,or any synth or sample or whatever - because its fun to learn things but wouldnt call any of those as completely made for it or totaly crap or sth.. this is bullshit to me.
It is all in you and your energy how you shape or what you want or if you want.
I think vb 1 is a very great tool for basses and greatly programmed light for cpu which can generate massive sounds.
Mostly you would change the sound with effects or further modulation anyways ,so that its harder to recognize I guess.

After read a lot of info in the net im a littel confuse so i need some help .
e read someware that o make a saw wave and the freq start on 30 - 60 - 120 - 240 .... or
40 80 160 320 .... 50 100 200 .....
and i try to put some pro sonds on cubase and analize the bass whit PAZ and i stay more confuse. and i try to change the notes to catch the freq i wish, but you can change the freq on the synt to .
So my question is whath the best freq to start ? . and the best note to the bass line ? shold i put a not up and detune ?
the (filter ADSR) it have some relation with the speed of the track or the lengt of the note any formula to calculate ?
and compressors ADSR have any relation with the speed of the track or thr length of a note?
any formula to calculate
and thers some freq that you should kill alwais , and some freq that sould up alwais nomera the note you play?

Time related settings as envelopes and compressors will always be related to song's tempo and note lenght.
But there is no rule, perhaps you could calculate that by getting millisecond duration of a 16th
Say for example:
60000/BPM/4
60000/145/4 = 103.4 ms
That's the lenght of a 16th, then you can adjust your instrument / fx settings to below 103 ms, for example i like filter env decay to be around 60 ms.
But at the end those are just numbers and what really maters is how it sounds, not to have everything mathematically correct.
- Also there is no such thing as "best note to start" just make yous bass match your kick, and use a confortable deep tone, trust your ears and in this case trust your chest too since most bass fqncies are rather felt than heard. You can easily get away using any note in first couple of octaves C0 - C1

+1. You will not discover your next favourite sound source if you don't give new thigns a try.
Most (soft) synths nowdays, are capable of producing good enough bass. Its all about listening and carefully EQing/mixing your bassline and obviously the rest of the mix together.

Hi Crew
My question is:
I have created a nice Bassline that I am very happy with. When I eq it with a low cut at around 28-30hz it just falls apart and turns to mud. If I use a linear phase eq it keeps it nice and clean and very transparent. So I am wondering why a normal parametric eq does this plus it also increases the headroom of the sound. And also is it just a case of eqing out the mud to get my clean sound back ? I hope this makes sense.
