i just love the bass of tron. If you like that on the vid, hear this track:

tron - homegrown anothe crazy bassline

i like more the timbre of his bass, so heavy and clear, not muddy.

Well, i just gave up doin a bassline with z3ta, started to use alien303 presets, but not happy with it 2, so right now im using the ```3osc`` to do my own bass. So far so good, at least is wayyyy better than the results i was having with z3ta, but there`s still a long way to go.

i tried vanguard, z3ta, i think if i was not achiving good results with z3ta, with the vb-1 will be much more difficult as it seems to need more processing. The z3ta is good, i like the envelopes but the bass was lacking personality, maybe i was not using the envelopes the right way. than i switched to the fl native 3osc and is really much better the sound. And i didnt did anything on it yet, just tweaked the envelopes and the synth a little bit and i m pretty satisfied comparing to the sound i was having with z3ta, imagine when i process the sound, but truth is that z3ta can be a perfect for bass but the 3osc is really easy to use.

Now what i m triyng to do is to lock my bass with my kick, tune them to fit, give them that flow as if they are only one element           ``We shall not cease from exploration - And the end of all our exploring - Will be to arrive where we started - And know the place for the first time.``

Hi. I know Tron personally.

I think he won't mind if i tell you he uses cronox 2 and goes equing bass n kick with much detail (i saw him like 2 hours just on the bassline eq)... little notches here and there to kill all resonances, no inserts on bassline but perfect eq, and sum compressor keeping always close a spectrum analyzer.

Pretty simple but he has like 10 years in the biz so you if you can't download experience points yet xD you'll have to keep practicing.

Remember there is no magic recipe for basslines... it is all about many many details: Track's tempo, rootkey, synth, envs, filter, eq, etc.

What's a working theory behind a low rumbling (forest psy) kick/bassline combo?

I can't get it to sound soft and deep, but at the same time punchy.
It's usually too fluffy or I end up with a harder more pronounced kick, which isn't what I want.

I use z3ta for bass. Please try this: OSC1 wave: vintage saw (1,2,3 or 4), and change to 90deg PHASE (50%) mode (VERY IMPORTANT!!): Normal sync.
Then add the filters. I added a LPF12 with fast envelope, and second LPF12 for cut something around 8kHz. Some z3ta EQ.
Poly to 1 voice. Quality 2x oversampling.
z3ta is amazing and powerfull softsynth.
One of the best I ever heard

Wuzz up everyone...here's a link with a couple of seconds of a track I'm working on. I would like to know what do you think of the bass, I've tested it in some average stereos. You'll just have to click and listen to it online to not bother. The type of track is forrest/night/darkspy or so whatever.
Peace out. the link: http://www.sectionz.com/@player.asp?rType=mp3&SZID=29341
