And how do u get note on the bass to stand out, i'll explain ,there's the snappy high end ,there'se the lowbass freakuencies and somewhere in the middle there's a note , a pure round note that i can't seem to push forward without effecting the other parts of the bass and i tried all those cuts and notches,i get close but not quite there.
Any thoughts on that are most welcome

is it usual low velocity on bass notes? I find under 65 its low. I think 100 should have a better pump but (own designed) basses is still biggest task for me . I try different than kbbb but looking on that standard I thaught sth like 80 100 60 would be ok..any help? cheers psyfriends           https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden

There really is no rule or preset standard for this. It's a matter of using your ears to get the sound your looking for. Go wild and experiment with all types of different settings and just hear how it affects the sound.

I was in doof festival and my friend saw ace venture and quantize after their sets and asked them what the "secret" of their powerfull basslines. They both answered that the first note from each three have to be half velocity of the two notes after it. and at the start of this topic domestic said that he works on 80 velcoity so i think that first note on 40 and the two after on 80 supposed to sound good.

and anyway i would like to know what do you think on my bassline. i did it on rapture. and i used urs eq, after it sonalksis compressor, quadrafuzz and vintegewormer2.
and the kick is mono! a little bit side chain between the kick and the bass and a little bit boost on the high mid (3500 khz) of the kick.
