I don`t think so that i kill all meat of the bass. I mean everything under 32hz is just mud. And there are a lot FullOn artist who cut arround 70-80hz. |

Yeah man, keep it down to 20hz sub bass is what we lack in todays trance, look at silicon sound's bass - that's what today full-on bass should be, not some lame domestic or whatevere the heck thousands of "full-on guru's" lol

domestic is one of the few fullon artists who rarely use hipass on bass. listen closely. a bit boring music but killer production |

Well, in the end it all depends on the personal taste, right? If you like your bass hipassed - you're better off this way

I am getting into basslines that bend, are not 16ths and trigger underneath the kick sometimes. 16ths have their place, but there is so much freedom when you've simply decided you are not gonna go down the 16th pattern road again.

I use Alien 303 a lot, usually i tweak decay, attack, envelope, some eq, distortion, maybe some filter, and then i bounce it to audio and sample the notes in a sampler.
In my opinion this is the best way to make a bassline with VST's, especially with alien 303 |
