hi again,

this is the first test... moved the bass notes 1 or 2 ticks left, and adjusted with attack and decay...

this is the test with some elements...

up for quantec!

I think your baseline has too much sustain! First, use only a bit decay, that you can hear just a trigger line, very short notes...kbbbk...
then give the sustain in, a bit more than decay. Then set the midi notes back.
Midinote length should be: Kick, Bass= 1/5 of 1/16, velocity @ 35; Bass=1/16 - 1/3, velocity @ 65; Bass=1/16 +1/5, velocity @48-56; Kick, and so on.
An urs n12 eq for cutting freqs and then an envelop or transient shaper into the insert...for adjusting the setted forward notes.
then the urs strip native pro compressor...
This plug is for blowing up sound & rounding off the edges of the trigger decay.. and also for the reconciliation.
A lot of fine tuning of each plug, then it should run and run ;-)
Each plug will affect the other one, so you have to find out the good average..

finally someone with teach mind =)

ok, Ill try all of that..
Now I see that u control the sustain by the note length right?

I bought Alien303 from Sonique, very good bass synth...

But now Im on Logic... trying something with v-station... (the one that I used in that sample)

thanks quantec

the bass is ok but the kick is far too long mate. Try to cut some tail or tweak the env of it. Seems also that kick and bass are not in tune nah ?

This is a great thread

Here is a tip i red in another forum a while ago that really (i mean REALLY) helped me out getting that fullon bassline.

For Reason users that is

Load up or create a nice Subtractor bass patch, then wire it through Malmströms shaper unit. Add some shape to it and twiddle around with Malmströms filter. Then some compression and EQ and u're good to go

Stay sharp

nice tip mate, never thought about running subtractor signal trough malström. cool
by the way, matrix can be nice for basslines as well.

but don't use the reason eq and comp, they almost suck like 'that fullon bassline'

not talking about YOUR bass but about 'THAT fullon bassline'
when i was listening to astrix many years ago, that fullon bassline blew me away. but the same degenerated fullon bassline by receip at every party just sucks. synths can make such likable bass sounds without being catched in the same restricted patterns.
that fullon bassline has now been here for years and it's a good thing to copy. but when done, delete it and make art.
sorry i'm just egoistic and love listening to uncommon sounds. this is why i always want people making new crazy stuff...
don't take me seriously and go your way. i'm just working too much at the moment and have nothing better to do than spamming around here

no, you didn't say wich eq and comps u are using. i was just posting that i don't like the reason ones. they are not that bad but it's worth to use other ones.

in reason u can't do else. i would rewire with cubase or logic. the integrated comps are o.k. and if u can get something like Sonalksis, UAD, Kjaerhus, Sonox, URS... it's even better.

it's funny anywayz to try different eqs and comps with same settings on a bassline. i underestimated the influence much too long...

Thanks for the tips sly

I totally get your point, and i agree.

Haha ye first time i heard astrix i nearly crapped my pants in exitement.

I'm gonna try to rewire through cubase when i get my hands on a new computer. See if ill get i nicer sound. (It fells kinda retarded to make psytrance on a 374mb RAM computer But it is doable with reason, thus it buggs the crap out of me.)

Ive been struggling with the bass part for ages now and finally im getting really close to what i want to do.

A good track is SO much more than just the damn bassline But it is very important, just as everything else. That's only my opinion.

Let's TWEAK 'that fullon bassline'
