Usually I sample the bassline seperate in the various loops I need from my vsti...

quantec, i miss some explenation in your toutorial, what is the GRP channel ?
what is the plug in chain order in the bass channel?
i will be thankful if you add some words to the photos

The GRPs are just monogroups; Kick & Baseline Groups....the VSTs routed to the Groups.
I don´t know which plug you are asking for...
tell me which plug, they`re named & numbered in the preset list.
...but i will update the touts with a short disciption soon ;-) |

yes, i use the battery2 for the main percussion/kick, the kick is on ch 17 cause its the 1st mono ch. after using the volume envelop of the battery, i route ch17 to a mono group. URS N12 is a good eq for kick, same as for bass, but its not enough yet. for the final punch i use as you can see the urs strip native pro compressor. You can do a lot of diffrent experiments with this tool, and form a kick or a bass very individual....very important is the basic sound! if you have good basic sounds, you only have to use high quallity tools like Nomad Faktory, URS, Waves API, Izotope, aso...to form any sound you like. |

one experiment:
make a kick & a bass without eq...
mix it as u like it...more bass or more kick.
then play it LOUD!
Muddy or not? Can you differentiate deeper frequenzies? No, definately not!
So you have to eq the bass to the kick!
Do some experements with the lower frequenzies of kick & bass...u will hear the good results.....or the bad....
-> to have no Kick/Bass interferences is the best solution... |

usually i add some tube overdrive, or some quadrafuzz (when it works in Cubase 4), a little comp and EQ of course (WaveArts trackplug, Waves C4) |

The preset that im using on Trilogy is the 303, its almost perfect, it has a really cool distorted sound, but in my case, i want a sound a little less distorted, ive been trying many ways with no results, Any ideas? |
