well, that's one way to do it.
note that you use already a zillion third party samples in you tracks. Why not bass too?
The end result is relevant, or do I have to build the synthesizers myself too, to make a good track or be a good artist?!!!

Kaosz: hey, your bassline is not bad, but overcompressed, no punch, without bottom end... my advice is less compression on bassline, kick is quite ok
i dont think whether instructions how the compressor must be set are good, the values of ratio, treshold etc. depends on signal incoming to processor, and we dont know what levels and characters you send out to compressor

I didnt read the 57 pages of this topic, but here goes.
Bass on Unreal-samples from logic esm one sample for each note..sawtooth with quite open cutoff freq.
samples uploaded on Halion 3 in cubase. then choose waldorf 24 filter inside the halion.
the chain:
UAD1 pultec eq boost 2 db of 30 herz
and 3 db of 3000. (can also use waves SSL..vintage..or API)
UAD1 cambridge (or use any other eq u like) cut 500 deep cut like 7-8 db with a medium size Q.
and from there on...it depends on the kick u are using..i usually use short attack kicks with a lot of sub so.....i do small cuts around 134 on the bass..and 50..

nice tips! thnx guys..
ok i have a idiotic question... when you write the notes, for the regular fullon basslines, how do u do it
k----k---
bbbbbbbb
(writte on each 1/16, not sure if is this)
or
k----k
-bbb-bbb
(k-bbb-k-bbb) bass and kick dont play togheter
when i writte the first example, and the first note the kick and bass play togheter, sometimes sounds like theres a interferance..

nice going huja I like it when pros share some of their knowledge!
let me guess, you use almost no velocity on esm and a fair amount of the filter
do you use anything like quadrafuzz/trash on your bass?
I really like your bass sound, its pumping a lot!
