another question

i use the side chain, so the kick trigg the bassline compressor, my problem is that i want to do some drill or rolling kick.
How can i do to have no influence in my bassline?

excuse me for my english

Hi,
I'm really sorry for being such an idiot but I'm just not able to make a proper bassline using VB-1. Could anyone help me out? Please sb make a file where there's only bassline (using VB-1 & whatever needed).. I'm using Fruity Loops 7. If there was anyone who could hook me up with such file, I'd be very grateful..

Thanks in advance,
Newbie Producer

the kick is supposed to be mono (have you ever listened to a stereo kick ?) but the bass is wider with stereo or 2 panned mono           Psy stuff : myspace.com/neyaprod

If you want a nice bass.

Take for example, Cronox2 , ESM, Trilogy.

Make a bass that you like, that sounds cool for you.

Sample it the way you want to be played to don´t need to add the sampler envelopes or any kind of the sampler effect.

Open it in a sampler (Kontakt, E-Mu) for example.

Use a good equalizer ( good cuts are <50 hz (don´t highpass the signal only cut a litle) 300 - 400 hz (mud area) cut a litle.
1 - 2 khz ( cut a litle if the bass have to much highs ( normal in vst´s).

Use a good compressor with ratio 6:1, 8:1, thershould -20 db, attack 1 - 2 ms for punch, release 100 ms

Put a nice sidechain with the kick and that´s it.

This are only some settings that do good results on the bass, ofcourse you will experiment a lot, but you can achieve some very cool basses with this settings, if you want to listen the results you can check my profile.
