elio in Logic express you cant sidechain, mac didnt release that function in express

hey zoopy.. not at all my taste/style, but sounds really clean - good work done there!
ask vince (electrypnose or "le barde"), he'll probably be able to give you useful feedback, since he's more into dark stuff..

I have the Virus TI but i dont use it for bass m8. TI is a nice thing but its not a bass monster!
I use the TB303 with saw wave for bass. Nice fat analog, then i process this through a ams neve strip and pre amp it. The sound of this combo canot be beaten trust me. its the MOTHER OF ALL BASSES right there! |

Ok, I've had it. I'm pretty much close to killing myself. Any tips with creating basslines with VB-1? More on the darker side. *sighs*

What do you think about 303 emulators?
I use this plugin caled CM303 and i like the sound it produces but i doesn't have a control for cutting short the sine that remains after the attack.
Also, what are the ways you can get this very dry bass that is used by a lot in darker psy?

Try Phoscyon vst..
If you really want that sound buy a real 303, nothing beats it, "Goa Gil" |

I don't think this has been mentioned before, but has anyone used amplitube to process their bass? It has a really nice bass guitar amp on it. Even with plain old VB-1 you can get some really detailed sounds. With a little EQ it's pretty wow. There's so much to that plugin aswell. Amps, cabinet, stomp effects, mic type, mic placement, rack effects... You'll be experimenting for ages! |

After one year of name calling to people who are using the vb-1 i've finaly found the right way to use it.
And i fell in love!
I use it for groovy progressive basslines
Put an Rbass on it for extra bass(freq depends on the note ofcourse) and quadrafuzz with the standard preset(maybe boost the high mid eq a bit) and some eq'ing to cut out some highs(make a dip where the click is)
Very fat sound.
For more fat and less sterile sound i use the tritium(this one http://www.museresearch.com/kvr/i/b/tritium.gif )
It has a really fat sound but sometimes it hangs when you are solo'ing on the fly while playing back your project.
Takes some pressing space bar like a madman
For typical fullon basslines i use a scorpion(not that i make fullon, but just for fun;))
Also with rbass + quadrafuzz
This is just a mad combo, any synth will sound fat like this
Got this trick from mad contrabender.
What i do sometimes is separate the bass from the mid by doing two basslines.
Like this you have more space to tune.
For instance in our last track we used a tritium for the sub and an albino with a cosmosis bass patch for the mid sound.
Really tribal sound you can get this way
Also nice to make a sidechain sub and add a albino or vb on top
