I generally use VB-1 but also Muon Tau 2, Albino or Vanguard.Depends on the coulour you want to give to your bass. I genreally put a bass amplifier on the Kick and Bass in order to give more power.           Nia KOR

A bass amplifier? You mean a hardware amp?           When rain dries, clouds form.
When clouds moisten, rain forms.

Brain Hacked,

there are different tastes and flavors in making a Bassline, but bassline isn't MUSIC. Like every other element in a song you should emphasize things that you want to be heared more and Bassline is one of them. In some song it is strong in some others weaker. It is up to you brother, how you want it. But for psy music, if you have weaker bassline, you should have a more strong and boomy kick. If you have a strong bassline, then you should cut the low freqs of the kick. That's it.           -------------------------------------------------

brain hacked... play with the filter and amp adsr. use low filter env ammnt and a low value for the filter cutoff. and when playing with the ADSR try to ignore all the rules you read or taught yourself. that way you'll discover new basslines... this worked with me           Pyrex :: Traveling without moving

Well, "ITS NOT THE CAR,ITS THE DRIVER!!!" was only one line, so technically, it's pretty much impossible to read "between any lines" there..

Does anyone use Subtractor for basslines?
you can get a good sound emulating the 303 if you pass it through a gated envelope controlled filter passing though the foldback distortion and the finally EQing it..

any comments?
I will post a refill for you guys to play with

I used it in my Song "Sunday Morning" on the Album. I often use Reason as a "slave" in Cubase, I really like the Subtractor and ReDrum.
For the bass I simply used the init patch and played a little with the cutoff und resonance until I had the sound I wanted (and did some compressing & equalizing in Cubase then).

You can listen to the result here;

http://human.home.solnet.ch/en/listen.html

It's Track 2. If you can't listen to it directly in your Webbrowser, right-klick it and "save as"..
