I get good deep bass and sub bass, and it sounds great but , when it sounds great, I am way over 0.0 line.
What do I do to get the same fatness and sub freq, without to go over the cliff?
thanks

if it only sounds great way over 0.0 then it's not a good bassline.
a 'good' bassline sounds great at lower volumes - and it's hard!
Odds are your bassline is generating too much sub frequencies compared to your upper frequencies. Try running a hefty notch filter slowly through your bassline and see if it 'jumps up' with bite anywhere.

That obvious. that's why I'm asking.
Applying the notch, it takes away the nice boomy ground
More sugeestions?

Really good advice here! Especially Broken Toy´s advice on page 20 made loads of sence! Thank you!
One thing I have to say though, is that every question is asked and answered about a hundred times in this topic Quite funny

Tried it...couldn't really get any decent bass out of it....seems like the oscs drift too much and are unstable.
Could be nice for other things apart from bass though...

well, all I can say is that for me it's very hard to tune subbass unless you have a good subwoofer.

cannabis try adding another osc (if supported), square or saw (maybe even sine), one octave down will give it some sub. the rest is up to eq and bass enchanment (like maxxbass and rbass... mind that they must be tweaked really slightly, the change can never be dramatic else you're ruining the bass, altough it sounds nice with all that low content)... you can also use a multiband compressor can give some help.
and as others said... get a good subwoofer |

Omg, I swear ive been trying so hard, but I just cant seem to get basslines like the crisp, bubbly, clean ones Bizzare Contact uses!I use Audiorealsm, Muon Tao Pro, and Reason Operator for basses. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance guys, these forums have been a HUGE help for my production work! |
