Can anyone offer any input on how to emulate a square bass along these lines?
There are 2 main square sounding riffs in this song,
The main bass riff has a very lush square sound. The second lead-like riff has a more plinky, bouncy sound.
Just curious how to hit the ballpark.
Skip to 0:53 for the first and 2:15 for the second.

man, you should be able to get close to this sound with any synth that has a square wave generator and decent envelopes. just turn everything off except the square, the amp envelope, and the filter envelope, and tweak away! I bet you get close in less than an hour. less than 20 minutes if you are good with the synth.

Maybe I should refine my question a bit. What would be a direction to go in, to get a really "bouncy" sound like that?
I ask because it sounds like more of an fx than just the scale/key he's in.
As you listen to the song as it goes thru, the bass just bounces around like a ping pong ball or something. So more than just the square wave sound, that's what I'm curious about.

ok, ive heard many basslines thus far but this is possibly the best mixed base ive ever heard.
starts at 1:30
is this a 2base layer? im not sure. the lowend is so phat but not muddy at all. your opinion? massive amount of careful processing and good speakers or just a normal baseline for you?

Trust me, it is very unlikely that you know "all about syntez" if you need effects on your bass.
You also have to learn to be more flexible and humble.
I don't think that even professionals can claim something conceited like "I know all about synthesis".

Sincerly man i don't know "that " sound without example, but I think you are aiming for modern electro layered bassline, you can process one layer with delay or reeverb, or spice everything with some swing, sidechain as usual, velocity, shorter notes,glide,distortion....
experiment bro you can do all kinds of shit when you tweak your synth....
it's really for flaming when you come to ask for presets for some bassline you already know how to make...but you are lazy do it and some pro dude will give you his top secret preset to rock the floor
Maybe it's your mixing or good mastered stuff that make you go crazy, maybe your kick isn't fat enough, but i think tweaking is mother of all stupid questions and best answer....TWEAK THAT SHIT MAN!!!!
