hi would appreciate some help people ,could someone with a decent set of monitors please tell me if this sounds ok , varying degrees of chorus being mixed in the bass here , sound allrite ? i want to get squaremeat / salakavala type sortof something with the bassline , or some tips on how to get close to that .. heres what i got so far
A decent set of monitors isn't going to help if you're uploading the file to soundcloud. Please share a .wav or .flac file if you want the answer to your question.

^^
U can try with vb-1 mate, leave the shape 0, and set damper to 10, put all the stuffs on the left (on vst's screen) and put some distortion, and then try to experiment it's always better to make smt unique tasty and original...

also you can try and increase the damper to around 25-35 and cut the bass notes out a lil short..... just a bit of eq and mayb sidechain it with the kick....
Why is it, that people sample notes from the softsynths and use them for basslines, instead of using the synth itself for basslines?
I've been curious of this for a long time, and I've tried reading through a lot of this post, but I never found my exact answer.
I also got a recent tip; that I should use ca. -5ms track delay on the bassline, to make it sit better with the kick, but in my ears it doesn't sound better most of the time. Are there any special occasions where this works better? Are there any other tips to combine with this tip to make it sound better? =)

^ wobbly oscillators , if no re-trigger , so the same note might sound different or something , im yet to hear a proper example of this claim though , i guess some people just want it perfect or something .
use your ears works best i guess , apparently some of the tracks on logic bomb`s unlimited album had a bit of delay going in the bass , no idea , iv never tried , maybe someone can add more on this delay on bass thing .. interesting
the -5 ms thing is mainly used if you have a short kick... so if it really sounds like the kick and the bass notes seem very separated, then try the negative delay on the bass to help it tighten up, but I'd recommend changing your kick instead.
