Mabe somebody can give me some advice

I'm recently using only Sylenth for my Basslines, imo it's the best synth for creating your own Bass presets and the synth sounds really fat.

Usually I choose a saw wave. Very short attack, mid decay, short sustain, very short release.

Then I route the lp over an envelope, no attack, short decay, no sustain, no release.

Sonnox Oxford Eq, lowcut by 32hz, small cut arround 800hz, highcut arround 6khz-7khz.

Quadrafuzz, but i'm not tweaking anything there, just for disortion.

Cubase 4 multiband compressor, there i boost the low freq approx. 3db-4db and i decrease the high freq approx. 2db-3db

Thats it So on my speakers (Adam A7) it sounds really good, nice punching bassline, fits well with the kick, everything seems to be great But when i'm listening to it with my headphones (Technics RP-DJ 1210) it sounds just terrible. Kick and Bass fits, nice sub bass, but the mid and high freq sounds like recorded with a fisherprice micro

Donno, my music is getting better and better but the bassline is and was allways a problem for me.

Cheers

What do other tracks sound like through your headphones? Really different than yours? And how does it sound on other nonheadphone systems?           soundcloud.com/supergroover

i made the experience, that kick and bass often suck with headphones... better check the mix with other speakers imo.

Well other tracks sounds great, but I think you can't compare. The music i'm lstening to is released an mastered stuff. Headroom, Burn in Noise, Logica etc... of course it sounds good

Surprising is that my Livesets sounds pretty good and I played also on fat Soundsystems like Kling & Freitag etc... Donno it's just a bit frustrating when you think "wohooo fucking huge Beat" and while listening with your Headphones it sucks, hehe           http://soundcloud.com/catweazle-psytrance-music

I got the some problem here. Yesterday I talked to a friend, who works in a studio:
In his oppinion the problem is the bad acoustic in my (bedroom) studio.
So now it is time for me, to have a look for this...

sounds muddy imo.
and you forgot one important thing, the roll.
use velocity or sidechaincompression for this.

cheers

I have lots of rolls later..
yeah it is strange it sound to me different on headphones than on monitors.Headphones almost like only a click and on monitors better. But still too boomy and muddy.
I'll try sc and play around with eq more.

well I have on both bx boom..
than on bass after eq and bx boom even saturator..
I think this is the wrong thing..too much maybe.
I want to make it phat but in the end it's much worse than at beginning.
I try with sc now,but I think in the end I have to remove both bx boom's atleast,if not even the saturator too..but it is so nice to automate bx boom off and after a kinda break again on.

I might be wrong, but I think the 'roll' orgytime is referring to is the 'rolling' feel of the bassline which is usually achieved by varying the note length, pitch, and velocity so that the individual bass notes have their own character, lending a driving dancy feeling to the beat

this is not to be confused with snare/kick/percussion rolls where you do 'extra' percussive hits in a series, like instead of the kick in a normal 4/4 pattern you put more and more notes in and they get shorter and shorter...there has got to be a better more musical explanation of that but the words fail me.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe
