Infected Mushroom took the name Bust A Move from the playstation game Bust A Move

they CAN'T have copyright on that name!!!

if you name your track Bust A Move, than you "steal" from the "stealer"!

and in hebrew: "Hagonev Miganav Patoor!"           u can find "Anything U Want" using the search...

how long can police keep people in a party place during a raid in your country ? in belgium they held me (and most of the other partyfreaks) for up to 11 hours for no reason (in my case) withoud food, or even a clean place to sit (party floors are not considered clean ) it even took them quite a few hours to realise we needed water

EP about the percentages for the relicense of a track i just stated some fiction numbers

About the names thing i dont think that one can actually register the name of a track. If one could do that then there wouldnt be many choices for choosing a name for your track.Plus its not possible to know all the track titles that exist in ourdays.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

When should I get advance money? Before or after the track is release? How much before or after?

Mike depends on the artist, label and aggreement.

Some artists ask all money in advance and some of them after the release of the cd.

New artists tend to be more 'easy' and wait a little bit longer for the money while more established names ask all money in advance.

Since you are a new artist i suggest to ask the money after the release of the cd,lets say 30 days after the release           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

Well usually you should ask for the advance as soon as the label have approved your music and signed the contract. I for one always ask for the advance before I send of the master. This way I am sure I get it at righttime and wont have to "fight" to get it after they recieved my music. But again it's different from artists to artists but there's really not any different in getting it before the release or after the release. All I know is that I would never release with a label that would start to argue about the payment day of the advance.

i think youre wrong mate.

names are considered copyrighted if and only if they are registered as trademark. also, i think that a song title cannot be registered as such, but im not sure.

Sulman,

Yes, you are right. a name can only be copyrightable if it is registred as a trademark.           I never apologize. I'm sorry, but that's just the way I am. Homer J. Simpson

Nice topic, but its not universal since the law and psytrance music are against each other form the beginning.Im shure that if we will start checking 95% of todays labels are not holding any copyrights for the tracks they purchased and 90% of the artists do not have the copyrights for the tracks they made.
Nobody got an idea of what Publishing is.
