With all these South African releases out I gotta wonder - which one tops the list? In recent times we've seen albums from Shift, Artifakt, and Rinkadink, with some collaborative artist albums such as Twisted System or the Penguin Rebellion... and then there's oodles of compilations. So if you were only going to buy one, which would it be? What fits all moods, breaks all barriers, and will last a few years at least?

Artifakt - Artifakts
close second:
Timecode - Cypher and Orbis Tertius
some of the oldest, but still the best.
The rest you mentioned are also very good. really, it's a toss-up. |

well, try 2 catch somethin from nano recs - wind up, dilation, emergence....
and from timecode - firewall
see the penguin rebelion...it fits a lot of the sound is comin out from that country....get those and u get the pick!:good:

Rinkadink's album - rabbit from the darkside is the best southafrican one followed by Shift

Penguin Rebellion is a blasting comp! Rinkadink is good no doubt, but hey Xatrik's new album is really good too, waiting for mine to arrive soon  |

Rinkadinks cd has the best production and is good aswell. Twisted system is good as is Shifts last cd Redline but their production lets them down, most of those South African releases have a real "grainy "sound to them unlike Israelli releases a few years back-most notoriously all the MDMA recs releases. The only label doing the business is forsure the Nano recs team. |

there is a s.a. v.a that was incredibly mastered last year: Psystation's BMW - Bush Martians in Wonderland.
Wonderful tracks, all chosen in a very good mood.
The only one I doesn't like here is the last track, by Protoculture.
