Dear guys,

in the last months, i witnessed a thing that it seems the end of the raves parties. I mean, the end of the raves parties and the start of the popular and commercial parties.

Yestarday I was in the end of the raves partie for me.

I was in a indoor club, and i saw the destruction in mass of the Peace, Love and Respect. Many... i say... maaany drunk people, saying shits to the girls... maany playboys with nose up trying to see who is the most crazy guy in dance floor... I saw some fights too in the parties.... yes... belive... fights in a Trance partie... why?! Happily I don`t know... and this is not end, I saw maany people that organizate big parties in my city that was just talking with the people that it interests they, and be shure guys, this people that make big parties really don`t know what is the truth PsyTrance music. They are new in the scene and they just have money to put in the parties, and for sure, they make parties to win money... to popularize the Trance music... to destroy the truth scene in Brasil.

I`m so sad to write this words...

I have sure that the artist that reading this, is so happy cause the Trance parties here is very popularized, and for sure, their songs... but for me... just a lillte listener, cry to see things like that.... is not the same thing like 7....8 years ago...

I don`t bothered to see wonderfull girls in dance floor... for me this is the only positive point of the popularize of the Trance parties... but i know that girl is just there, cause trance here now is fashion, cause people just go to the parties cause their friends are going... cause their want be crazy in dance floor, cause they want to be seen with important people (i mean, organizers and rich people).

Guys.... u really don`t know how it is disgusting!!!!!!!!!

And unhappy.... this is happen all the parties... either a PVT partie... either a big partie.... all around the country!!!!!

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK TO THIS COMMERCIAL PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want my scene back....

That`s the main reason that I listen a lot of Dark (sorry guys, but for now, we don`t have another word ) tunes here... here we don`t have DJ of dark musics... just full on... dark here frightens people... cause they have afraid... cause they don`t know how to listen Trance music...

well guys, i think u can have an ideia how will be our scene in this year... and the next that will come...

I just would like to know, if the really trance scene is live in another part of the world...

All the best for us guys!

Let too many new people into the scene too fast, and the cultural meaning on which the scene is based, is eroded with every new member not getting some background info as to the values of the culture they are entering.

In the end, nobody knows, and the culture which created it all in the first place is almost portrayed is "unreal" and "unobtainable", especially by those who seek to reinforce the idea of "everything is ok here, nothing is wrong", which is at the same time the people wanting to earn as much money as they can, nevermind the culture.

Dont despair however, as long as there are people who are true to themselves, the culture and the music as such, a "true" scene will always exist for them... at the very least, inside themselves.

And its the insides that matters... Like I said before, guts, live, heart, lungs.

Spread plur ;-)

i feel your pain man...

It is almost disgusting... People that are going to these rave parties are going for the wrong reasons.

#1 Guys there (more gangster type white people and some african americans, IM NOT RACIST by no means, but just typical people you dont see at these events) preying upon young girls that are under the influence of certain drugs.

#2 Not there for the music, or artists, but there to sell and find drugs... Now im not saying all people are there for that reason, but most are.

its definetly sad to see... but what more to say than... keep it underground

I have seen the same stuff at many underground events also. Sadly.

All the while, not seeing it at all "overground" events.

In many cases, underground just becomes a cloak to hide yourself behind.

Its not as easy, as commercial versus underground. Its about the scene as a whole, and it wont be saved by going underground, it will only strenghtened if people do more to enlighten others and bring a "true" vibe to the parties.

Fair and square.

I found a nice way to of seeyng things:

I CREATED MY OWN SCENE.
With my friends, and anyone else who shows me enough respect.

The true essence of a rave, will continue in the heart of those who really show their effort to make it better.
We won't ever forget the times we've had before. When P.L.U.R was something to follow.

People attend these parties today, just to show themselves. That's the sad part. Not because they love the music and to dance it.

And I guess you r talking mostly about Brazil. Cause this is where we live right??

But this is getting spread all over the world. Saddly. Everything that goes into massive spreading, gets commercial.

Some people., that i rather not put names into, took advantage of this grown, and started to INVEST in it. But they forgot the true meaning of Raves.

Like Krell said, keeping it toltally underground, will not make things disappear.

It's all in our minds. We are the true guilty ones...

THE HUMAN BEING!

Who in general, shows no respect for othes. Is selfish, to say the least.

Have a nice day fellas.

Regards!
It

I understand your points there about the underground thing.. thanks for pointing that out..

I guess this is just bullshit that any scene would have to put up with at some point in time, but i guess its our duty as a community to try and prevent it from happening in the future...

Well, if someone invades your culture, you have a right to defend it.

However, I dont think our culture can be defended by trying to prevent things from happening as such.. at least not in the sense that you try and make rules and thereby becoming less open minded.

When you try to prevent stuff, you are not taking the initiative, and in war, keeping the initiative is very important. This is a war, a war of cultures or a civil war in the culture. Some might be blind to that fact, but most of them are either part of the problem or not here anymore in 5 years.

Instead, what we must do is keep the initiative, act instead of re-act. We must all add to it, people must dance, talk, create art, appreciate art. We must try to enlighten each other to these things, point them out to each other.
Also, if we can see that there are totally bullshit parties or artists, we should not be supporting them. However, we dont need to contantly attack them either, we need to spend the time bringing out the good in our culture rather than suppressing the bad (if the good is positive enough, it will suppress the negative by itself).

Its not easy, but, if a culture cant breathe on its own, by its own spirit, its useless anyways. It has to be strong and earn the right to survive.

GlowingFigure8 I think your first post has a point, you only forgot to mention (krell did it, but in an incomplete way IMO) that the same things may happen at underground events, however in much smaller proportions.

Maya, I opened a topic like this a couple of years ago, the scene @Brazil is really different, quoting a sample from a Tegma track:

"You can feel it on the (price of the) water. You can smell it (on the smoke) in the air."

As it_peiote_killer said, the way is small non-comercial events, (you asked me so here it goes:) I threw a small free party at new year's eve near Chapada dos Veadeiros, excellent vibes, thanks God Skazi's hellicopter was stuck in the mood at the mountains, so he couldn't make it (it's a metaphor for "we leave the commercial stuff behind").

Maya, your words are the reason why I'm only attending at one Festival per year, I don't think most parties here are worth, specially if you're looking for an ambient to have a proper psychedelic experience. I'll only go to a "one day party" if it's outdoor and I'm bringing a lot of friends with me.
Respect!           .
...Be gentle with the earth...
...Dance like nobody's watching...
.
...I don't mind not going to Heaven, as long as they've got Coffee in Hell...

a open culture will suffer from people that want to use and abuse!
money will blind the art!

but dont worry! their are lots of people that is true to the art and will remain so.

we bring a message of freedom! dont forget it, as long as we remember that, its alright!

drugs is a issue. Some people have no respect for drugs. But its not the biggest issue...

so what is the biggest issue? anyone have any idea?
