They like their music to be brutal. They live in the night, dress in black. On friday the 13th, the whole scene wakes up to gather, and no-one that's not one of them isn't hardcore enough. Nightime is where it's at, sunrise just doesn't fit the mood.
No, I'm not talking about the Goth society, I'm talking about techtrance fans. Is there going to be a counter-culture to the happy, colorfull, hippy influenced ideals that started out this whole vibe we see in trance today? Is techtrance on it's way to becoming the gothic trance wave?
Perhaps the most hardcore (or hard) music in the trance world. Dark vibes and agression a plenty, enviromental games that play on the shadier parts of the brain. The music has it's similarities (in the enviromental feeling, the "outsider" pose, etc) to that of the darker sides of metal. The people - well, as I said earlier, most of the people who listen to psychedelic music aren't exactly the "do-what-society-tells-you" type people.
Just look at the homepage of Boshke Beats (or even at Triac's homepage). One word describes these best. BLACK. The contrast between this and the rest of the trance world is obvious. Techtrance is a fairly new style, and a culture is only starting to form around it - but it's easy to see it's not heading in the same way that psychedelic trance "historically" is at.
Is it just another one of my horror film induced paranoias, or do the creatures of the night really stop smiling in the morning?

and damn i think this is somewhat a quite accurate explanation of what tech trance scene is ...
thu at least from my experiances , the creatures of the night dont stop smiling in the morning , they just put they'r shades on and wait to see what's happening , they just want the good feelings of the night to somehow continue in the morning ...and then mostly they crewl back to they'r spots ... in the cars ..l0l
dude , i sure hope the scene will evolve and become what it should be ..

well... as asaf said, the "caln" is only at its begining (but we r working on it ). so i think its too early to characterize this whole thing.
but u did it, maybe not the best description imo... but its the rigth direction 
and now from my point of view, as a tech trance listener/fan/lover (whatever u wanna call it) i definitely dont see myself stop smailing even for a second (np: the last tech party i was at... didnt stoped smailing, and i was very sane).

yeah these guys scare me sometimes also.
I can deal with an hour maybe two of this evil music but I need a melody or two to keep me going.
It's just the next phase of the evolution of Trance, just like the fad of minimal is starting to fade, Tech-trance will evolve into something much better soon.
Can't wait

tech-trance is loading ... to love it deeply i think u need some special bolts in your brain ... or absense of those .. definetly twisted music but as kaz said dark as hell ... i wish that in coloboration of trance and techno first prevale more ....

and most funny thing in it that tech-trance have not so many with real techno and have almost nothing to offer to techno fan.
and if alex tolstey play paul britshish at his morning sets, we have nothing to be worry about coze melodic tehno is COOL !!
techno do NOT mean dark and scare. techno mean techno.
at least these days every teechno dj play some electro stuff that funny and cool too.
techno is cool and dont mean hard,dark and crazy stuff.

I can see the power in the darkness, and I can see how some get off on it, but I am so relieved when the sun comes up and starts that great morning thing. For that feeling, the night plays an important role for me. Here comes sunshine! |

I didn't talk about a specific person - I think this is the way that the techtrance scene is heading. Just like people can like Gothic Metal and not be a Goth, there can be Techtrance nuts that aren't a part of that scene.
Again, this is just a forecast. Not the present situation. Give it some time.
