The best album OR/AND the album that shaped the sound of trance we know today
here is my list:

Quirk - Machina Electrica & Forna
Hallucinogen - The Lone Deranger
Infected mushroom -The Gathering
Astrix - Eye To Eye

the answers are mostly:
Cosmosis
Pledians
X Dream
Infected
Kox Box
Transwave
Astral projection
Hallucinogen
and others,but its so recycled even "green peace" are against it!

@RAY. Right on ... Dark Side is what opened my eyes to all forms of psychedelia, music or otherwise.

Infected Mushroom - The Gathering
Hallucinogen - Twisted
Hallucinogen - Lone Deranger
Shpongle - Are You Shpongled?
Astrix - Eye To Eye (Started the Israeli cheesy morning sound)
Eyal Barkan - Good Morning Israel (Started all those Nitzhonot crap)
Xenomorph - Kasandra's Nightmare (Started the dark psy with screams and stuff)
Hux Flux - Cryptic Crunch (Defined the Swedish forest sound)
X-Dream - Radio (Started the German tech-trance sound)
There are a lot of albums that sound unique till today and i can't mention them cause anybody tried to copy them with success such as KoxBox's The Great Unknown or Doub;e Dragon's Continuum.
Juno Reactor also wasn't copied and they still remain at the league of their own.

usually i dont care about "best of" threads but here i think i can say realy seriously that
xdream - radio
and
astrix - eye to eye
have been the two most influencing and important albums in trance history. BECAUSE both initiated new waves and definition of how trance should sound like.
