Use the search surely provides the best sounds...

Sennheiser HD-25

This is only an example, just type Headphones in the search and select the Equipment session.

i like the hd-25 SP from Sennheiser. you can get them for about $75, they're really hard to break, the have a long cable, and replacement parts can be bought by mail IIRC. the only problem for me is that they aren't as loud as other, larger cans. if you've been mixing for a while, they're great. you can wear them for hours, and the weight is never annoying.

I had a pair of the Sennheiser HD-265 headphones that lasted me 8 years before the driver finally just started giving out. Granted these were studio monitoring headphones, but their response was great for djing. I haven't been too pleased with Sennheiser of late, so I ended up buying the Ultrasone DJ headphones. They are great overall. Their bass response isn't what I used to get from the Sennheiser, but they are definitely easier on the ears after an extended dj set. I would personally suggest the Ultrasones.           Brian - Uhm

Sennheiser for now but I'm not that impressed, by the HD-25II that is.

I find that even after a year the sound seems ver muddy no matter if it is pop, rock, metal, classical or trance/ambient.

I think I might consider selling mine off and getting either some Sony's which I used to enjoy a lot more or Pioneers.

I guess it is expectation, from what I had been told and all the reviews, compared to what I got, didn't match up at all and I think personal choice comes into it alot as well.

I've tried several over the past few years, and my Sony MDR-V700's have been my favorites for live/dj use all along. They're not very good to try to make music or mix with, but for the price, you can't beat their isolation and response. Pretty nice to just listen to, but I prefer open headphones at home.           You believe in the users?
Yeah, sure. If I don't have a user, then who wrote me?

hi

in my oppinion i use sennheiser hd 25 since i started
and love them and the pair i still use are over
12 years old now and working great only replaced parts of it once since then..

but now since a few months i also use the Ultrasone dj 1 pro
and i love them had to get used to that they are quite bigger
a bit more heavy but they have awesome sound quality
and one thing i specially like is that they are very good shielded that means not so loud on the ears on parties

also compared to the sennheiser they dont have extra bass added(another switch when you are used to the hd 25)
but i also use the ultrasone as monitor headphones at home

so i guess it depends what you are looking for and how much you want to pay for it but both are new in the 200us dollar range

also the ultrasone pro comes with extra earpads and nice box for travelling def. a plus in my book

the hd 25 is the classic dj culture thing
two technics mkII lp player or pioneer cdj 100 a pioneer 500 mixer and hd25 headphones still my prefered set up
and the party rocks            DROPOUT PRODUCTIONS

I like the Sony MDR-7506 headphones. They sound great, and they feel good on ears!

The only problem I've had with them is that the ear pad thing falls off sometimes (not often), but it's easy to put back on.           http://soundcloud.com/the-andychrist
