Is there anyone who walks on the ground of this planet who can tell me the logic in having 40 different names and projects when producing? You are still the same man/woman how many names and nicks u use! The q popped up when i read the answers on my Xv- Kilist thread (Dj´s And Artist)
Look there and u will see why i ask...
PEACE!

Well , the main reason is that when an artist want's to make a diffrent style so he do it in a diffrent name , and his regular name stay in the regular style .

Simon Posford makes music as Hallucinogen and also as Shpongle.Does Hallucinogen music and Shpongle music sounds the same to you?
If not then there is your answer to your question about the different names an artist adopts for his different styles of music.

Very good point Mental ,
I think 2 project names is enough, maybe 3, but thats it!

ps - even 3 is too much:)

and inscape/indoor :)

... And as for Posford:

Hallucinogen, Shpongle, Celtic Cross, Younger Brother (and a few more smaller ones) each have their own unique style and really can't be compared.

well- I think if you're working on a big project with another artist, then you change your name...

but if it's just one track or two - you can remain You vs Him

and deffinatelly you shouldn't change your OWN artist name for no reason :)

Noise - in this example with Simon it is a great man, not the great stuff with names :)

maybe they want to make more money...
it's easier to have 3 tracks of your work in a compilation or to release 2 or 3 albums in a year when you have more than one project...

Does it have anything to do with labels, contracts, and legal issues?
e.g., "the artist formerly known as ____."

Who is Psychaos?

Joti Sidhu by himself??

If so, why the hell is he producing under Joti Sidhu and not under Psychaos anymore?

It´s the exactly same style, isn´t it?

Well...for me, it is...
