To be a music writer can be a burden sometimes. Why? Do you familiar with the analyzers? maybe you are an analyzer yourself?

Analyzers are the ppl who come to parties and stand close to the speakers and the dj. They always have serious look on the face and they focusing on the sound and how its dun instead of enjoying the party.
My friend was once an analyzer. He stood for hours there - analyzing and telling me how it was dun. All I had to say to him was: I don't know what is Novation, sorry.

Couple of years ago; in a certain period of time I became to an analyzer myself. The album which made me want to create music was MFG - the message. So I started analyzing the music at home. And realized that for weeks I never really listened to the music; I lost all fun in it and figured nothing just to make 2 minutes on F.loops. My computer knowledge is bad. There is a huge gap between what is in my head; and the ability to extract it Into music.
To bad that there are no telepathic programs

Someone ever thought about it?

Same thing happens with DJing, you might get caught up in the more technical aspects of DJ sets such as mixing technique which can be annoying since it removes your own focus from the music itself.

Or, you analyze what is being done and how it is being done + add that to the total experience of the sound.
So, a DJ can be playing really great tracks, but if not mixed together competently it will subtract from the experience due to the end result of ones analysis of the experience.

Ignorance is bliss to some, but I strongly feel that we should not see information and knowledge as something bad. True, the music MIGHT loose some of its "magic", but could we get anymore vague ? Becoming more aware should not equal something negative in our scene.

What is really happening is that we get more demanding and expect more. When you enter a more active role in what is happening, you demand more from the experience, and so you should.
You see, you have chosen a path which leads you into creation, and to be able to create you need to move beyond what there is and onto the cutting edge of it all.

However, if you cannot truely "feel" anything, you will be hard pressed to create anything beyond a Copy/Paste formula, since its probably/mostly your feelings/intuition which should guide you in your creative process as a musician.

Still, the similarities between djing and production ends there. Since with djing the technique is very static as compared to production. In production you do have many more options used to create technicly.

Try looking at it from a different perspective... A rock band, drummer, guitarist, bass player and lead singer... 4 sound sources working with their own "touch". Sure they will also become absorbed with the methods other bands use, but its still the emotion, power and meaning which makes the difference in the end of the day. At some level, someone puts all their sounds together, analyses it on the fly, produces it.

All these roles are often compacted into 1 person when the topic is electronic music production.

Something to think about would perhaps be how to make it "better" and then go do it.

And yes, the telepathic programs would be fun. Put the person/sound source in a lucid dream state, feed him with images of the party & let him create the sound for it while dreaming (the brain is FAR more creative in the dream state than normally) - I think at first the brain would emulate the current silicon driven sound, it would take a long time to attain something truely unique.

i think there is nothing wrong in having a bit of that yourself. Or in the least taking a little time to really feel the music and hear the intricate language it's communicating to you. On the other hand i knew a guy in my uni that would go as far as taking a notepad and pen to 'write notes' on gigs. That's just retarded.

when the speakers in a party is wrongly placed,

this you will notice pretty fast, not much to analyze.

when the artists and djs play too loud, and you never see them go out on the dancefloor to check volume and how the people percive the sound...

this is something i seldome see, i credit those who pay attention to the sound and make sure its at a pleasant level, and knows if a track is too sharp in the highs or lows and make adjustments acordingly... i mean if the entertainers do their best for people to enjoy them selfs, there is often not much problems..

there is alot of factors to have a good time when technical stuff is involved the engine must run smoothly.

but to get that magic, that krell talks about, the best way is to just flow, though that magic can be interupted by some factors...

maybe this is not the discussion.

What is it called when one analyze not what you guys are talking about, but you analyze all sounds inside a track. Like your brain and ears are 100% connected to all low and high sounds/frequencies and movements (up, down, to the side ect.). THIS is what is exiting, or should be exiting about psychedelic trance. Does this have a name except “bragging”? No? Thank heaven

yeah to analyze for me is to listen or watch something very narrow. to see/hear the small parts of something big...

analyze:
consider carefully and in detail in order to understand or explain.

you can analyze in many different ways.

its very interesting to analyze.. but it demands full conncentration..... and time... and of course reflection

There's a a few reasons why not everyone can make music. They're called perseverance and actual skill. Believe me, I sucked at music software at first, but if you keep at it and keep wanting to make the sounds in your head a reality... well, one day it just happens. I've got my first track now released on a netlabel (I make dark ambient/drone) and it's doing quite well considering the amount it's been downloaded.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. Acidhive - so music is all about music software?
hehe

and all about releasing it?

everybody can make music... and even better together in a group...

and the best thing is that they dont have to release it...
