Just wanted to add that Texas Faggott has released many nice songs in the past that I still like to listen, eg "Back 2 Mad" was played just last weekend in the Space of Joy - party in Russia and again it worked wonders on the dancefloor. And "Kaunista" is very nice piece of music that has introduced many people into trance music who didn't like it before. Just this new dark direction of theirs is what I don't think is healthy.

I'm listening to 4 min samples of this album (thanx 2 saikosounds!) again while writing this. I didn't want to write here and complain in the first place, but they made me do it by advertising this album with a description of a fan “reminding me of the fun at the circus as a kid". I'm sure that this has been very truth considering the previous material, but who would said that pilluminati cunt roll does the same. For me it sounds like all the performers in the circus have suddenly turned into vampyres (like in the film "From Dusk Till Dawn") and the audience has to give all they got to get out of there alive And now I'm starting to see some beauty in this album also when hearing track 4 (we will not return).

First of all, you gotta love Timo Thick's humour... he just takes all the Illuminati hippie mumbo-jumbo and makes a big joke of it in the form of the title of this album (look for the more or less disguised pyramids on the front cover... it would make any RA Wilson fan go nuts! =D> )

Now on to how this sounds... well if you don't already know finnish trance, it's VERY wierd and IMO a hit-or miss genre. You either love this stuff or you hate it. Plus, finnish trance is wierd, but each group is wierd in it's own way. On the more conventional side there's stuff like Flying Scorpions and Squaremeat. On the more wierd side there's Haltya and Mandalavandalz. Well, I'd say Texas Fagott is somewhere in between there... not a very accurate description I know

So then, listeing to this with an open mind (it would probably help if you don't think of it as being psytrance in the first place...) this is pretty damn good! It somehow preserves some oldschool elements (of course, don't expect it to actually BE oldschool, far from it), but some synth melodies in the background sound very oldschoolish to me. And most of the tracks would actually work pretty well in a DJ set, the kind of thing to play in the late hours of the morning to make the acidheads go INSANE!!

My personal fave is We Will Not Return with THE best flute melody I've heard this year!! Eat your heart out Raja Ram!! It's so beautifull thatit brings tears to my eyes

Also in Blue Light Special you can hear in the intro what is IMO THE most innovative synth sound I've heard so far! It's like the synth is tickling my brain somehow Too bad the rest of the track doesn't work so well...

highlights: 1, 2, 4 (!!!)

Conclusion: personally I like this when I'm "in the mood"... 8/10 however this is VERY wierd trance, a lot of people might not like it, so don't say I didn't warn you... Still if you're a DJ playing monring sets, I'd recomend you have this in your stash

I couldn't agree more with some of the reviews. The album (from the clips in saikosounds) sounds _even to my girlfriends ear_ the album sounds flat. I had to boost the bass to get the bassy feeling. And someone taking the arrow of Finnish goa/psy scenen going through hard times. Yes it fucking is! Almost every party in Finland last year that _I_ have been in have had some very bad behaviour. Bloody needles in the woods, people saying that someone has robbed their tents or everything in them etc? So Whattta fuck? Is it going to be more junkie? Please no, I have to stop going to the parties. Who is still saying that enjoying finnish trance doesn't need the ultimate experience? I'd say you need.

Still, now all the stones flying. I enjoy some of the better quality finnish tracks (Don't ask tha names, heard them in the parties.)

Before this goes to another SS vs Global trance topic, you should really try IDM which I prefer the most advanced music in the days of our living. Weird in many of the Finnish psy is'nt even that weird. It's more random. W3ird layers of more weird _musical_ experience with the standard of NOW! = IDM

IDM .. "i'm so intelligent, look at me , uhuhuu" - what happened to SDM (STUPID DANCE MUSIC).. No, wait! I guess we can say that stuff like the fags and other "annoying flat crap from Finland" is SDM, at least for those people who in their semi-intelligent ego psychosis think that there is indeed a certain level of music which you can categorize as INTELLIGENT whilst the other types are NOT??? !?!??

LUV&BE PROUD OF YOUR SDM!
