Braids is the one for me as well, almost everything I hear just "clicks", its much cheaper and much easier to handle.

SS is something I would look at later on as I just started.

Im in two minds myself bout the shapeshifter,

Its a digital thing I suppose, at points it sounds weak bur at tohers its coming up with next level sort of sounds,,

Suppose as well thats why braids get such props on muff, I mean you can cut away all the week stuff and have only the highlights ,

But still once you get some proper patching reinforcement( which is what modular to me is all about) itll blow the fucking socks off anything else around, also the dr octature gives it something interesting as well,

The wavefoleer on it is a fine piece of work, and its potential for rounding out the sound is serious,

Problem I think with it at the moment is 4he sheer width of the features makes it very fiddly and can be a bit virus ti like, but the sound itself is so clean,

Been using it to put a kinda metalic sync glassy overlay on to the rubicon, solid duo, really solid,

I can understand why theres a bit of sceptical debate concernning it, but in my book its how you patch something , rather than just the source

Need to get some propes demos put up to give a better point of conjecture to the debate really           Â°Â°Â°ACTS 4:12°°°°

True that, but some demos I've seen of it are great.

More expensive than Braids, though.

I guess I could hold off on the SS/Braids for now... but damn, wavetables sound so good through analog filtration.

So much synth crack... so little money!

The Atlantis has me drooling in my own studio. What a workhorse this is and sounds stellar! the LP Boost switch on the VCF works wonders on how the resonance behaves on the band pass as well.

The 3 VCA drive settings are such a great idea. It just smooths out peaks in the nicest way, and with some very gentle compression it sits and cuts through in the mix, with no EQ. This is great.

Best starter module, getting Disting and with the ES-4 and Silent Way plugs I am running circles around my 12U Doepfer with this 3U rig that I have going so far.

if u have the cash, rubicon dixie 2 ufold dr ocature 2 would be good choice...i would say cover first analog osc before getting digital one imo

so u get good tone for bread and butter sound.. sound that just sound good with no hassle

Definitely thinking of the Octature too now - the multiple filter output idea is pretty cool, and I think combined with a stereo mixer I could get some nice, subtle widening at the cutoff frequencies.

Dixie is on the list now, too .

I went back to the Dubmix after all because it's the only mixer I can find that does everything + deep pan control and whatnot. Plus with the expander modules eventually it's ridiculously featured. Gearslutz loves it, too, though GS is a fickle bitch.

The new plan looks like this:

Tides + Maths looks like overkill but between the two I think I have a ridiculous amount of modulation capabilities covered.           Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your living room. ~Kurt Vonnegut

If you hook up the intellijel unity mixer(2hp) ×with the droctature youl get the different filter types from the filter,
its also the same filter thats on the atlantis, so I might go another way if I were you

yeah octature 2 would be overkill think with atlantis, you could replace atlantis with rubicon, octature 2 and some other module.

you better go atlantis route, or rubicon dixie 2 ufold, octature 2 ect..imo the second route will be more flexible and offer more but cost way more

making a complex osc out of rubicon and dixie 2 with ufold ect..would sound dope

Honestly, you have plenty of oscillators and the Atlantis takes a lot of space on the case. The Rubicon is a better VCO than the Atlantis, if you get Octature, and you have the Rubicon and the STO you have an even better Atlantis.

I got the Atlantis cause I am on a budget. If I had the cash to spare, I probably would not have gone down that path.

Yep, can vouch for the rubicon, dr oct and sto combo

Thick and warm sounding,
Plenty of madness and also vanilla stuff and all the bits inbetween           Â°Â°Â°ACTS 4:12°°°°

Interesting!

The Atlantis also has the envelope and VCA/gate, though, which is nice.

Maybe will see how the rubicon/sto/oct fits - it's not that much more expensive. Hm -           Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your living room. ~Kurt Vonnegut
