You're right by saying that this isn't "100% live", you have to excuse Jasons' English, what he means is that this is full live in the sense that the liveset is fully interactive and that we have control of the sequencing. A real live would mean playing live instruments etc, however were not the best keyboard players and with 2 guys this is what we can do at the moment, but there is always room for improvement and adding new stuff

Much respect mate I hope you weren't offended
You guys are doing so much more than 95% of the professionals out there. I am not one of the "this isn't live" people by the way. Just so you know Like I said I think with two people and without playing instruments live this just about as live as it can get

really nice to watch how they do it, the scene needs more honesty from the artist and not just dancing infront of a laptop

Im sorry but i must interveen.

We work hard enough as it is on the beats.

Alot of artists don't have time to work on the live sets..because they are too busy perfecting the beats and the mix.

Im saying stop harrasing us ...Obviously real live sets are better yes...but would you rather we not even play our music to you?

Tegma have been doing this for a while now. They have had alot of time.          SPLINTER

I'll agree, but disagree at the same time. You do work hard on the tracks perfecting them yes, but is it too much to take 3 days out of what you normally do and put together a template set so you can just add the new tracks and go from there? Otherwise, what's wrong with Djing? If you're doing something on the fly that's not completely preprogrammed, I'm sure that that more than enough to put together in a day or several hours and then still have time to work on music...

This is a great thing to do when you're stuck in the airport waiting for your flight... or on a long flight... Even when I did push play sets, I'd usually put them together the day of the party sitting somewhere in my headphones. So in the end, you do have time... You just have to have the desire to do more.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

So if you dont have the time , be honest and say its a dj set. I prefer to listen a good mix on the fly, which shows some mixing skills than just someone pushing enter in the lap.

I was thinking also, maybe this "live" thing is conspiracy from profucers to monopolize bookings. They left no room for dj's in line ups (just jokin)

It's not a question about time mate, since we started playing in parties back in 2001, we decided that our liveset should be somehow interactive, and we used a Multitrack recorder with 16 channels + a cdj(one track live, one track on cd) until we discovered Ableton in 2004 which replaced the CDJ,and since 2005 we've use 2 setups of Ableton.

It's a real shame to see so many trance acts getting paid thousands of euros without putting any effort into their live setups.

Just wondering if you guys are syncronising the two laptops with MIDI or OSC ?

If I was getting paid thousands of $$ for my live set it would be 100x more interesting. With gestural midi controllers > motion sensor devices, wireless interactive controls for members in the audience, etc etc.

The 2 laptops are not synchronised mate, when we mix between the laptops we do it in Dj style manner, so thats why we have connected the setup to a dj mixer. It can be a bit tricky to get the beat tight sometimes, thank god they introduced the nudge function for tempo in Ableton 7.
