Totally agreed. A nice festival in Colorado would really kick ass, and it'd be a good place for anyone to go in the summer (especially if summers where you live are severe). |

i think we should start making plans on this, maybe work on it for a full year, and do a 3 night extravanganza next memorial day weekend.
I think step 1, who's willing to help, (ideally at least one group from the various scenes, and maybe 2 or 3 from the large ones) and by help, really help, contribute to production costs, donate deco, dontate land, etc etc..., not just volunteering to come and play.....
step 2 is where......
so seriously folks, whos down to try and make something like this a reality. Its been an idea batted around for a long time, and i think psy trance in the US has progressed to the point where it could be made to happen

Wherever it is, Onetribe would definitely want to be a part of it and help with organization.
Of course we would be down to host something like this in Colorado - there are 2 or 3 private (and 100% legal) pretty mountain spots we've used before that would be perfect for this type and size of gathering.
Arkansas of course is also a beautiful location. Would love to go there again.

i'm all for it. paradigm, i think memorial weekend next year is a perfect plan. if everyone cooperates in ONE festival for that 3 day weekend instead of hosting smaller kick ass parties all over we could do something very beautiful.  |

oh yeah, we also have a very nice clean high-end sound system - 15-20 kW. We may be down to bring it if this is within reasonable driving distance from Colorado.

I nominate New Jersey.
We could do this party in the New Jersey Pine Barrens.
Newark International Airport is inexpensive, and and is only 1 1/2 hour drive. The site is a 2 hour drive from New York City, and a 1 hour drive from Philadelphia.
The trouble with a west coast party, is that the majority of New Yorkers and many urban New Jersians would not be able to attend because we don't drive cars, and I heard that some parts of the west are inaccessible by subway or bus.... while this party could shuttle in large numbers of people by rental vans.

Pine Barrens is not a legal venue. A party like this needs to happen on private land with all applicable local permits, port-a-potties, food vendors/kitchen facilities, etc.
plus it's a 6.5 hour non-stop flight from Cali to NYC, which is a bit too far. we need to find a middle ground, with about 3-3.5 hour flight times from either coast.

exactly Dimitry, and IMO that means, CO, Wyoming, MO, IA, maybe Ark, or WI, or god forbid Kansas as it is right in the stinking middle.....
but who wants to go there.....
anybody down for starting a off forum email list on this idea, that way serious promoters, artists and the like can start to really maybe talk about things ?

I think if you were going to throw the party int he middle of the country, the logical choice would be a venue, maybe an hour or two drive outside of Chicago. It is too much of a hassle to have to pay extra money to fly to wyoming or iowa or something then drive another 12 hours or something. Chicago is the transportation hub in the middle of the country.
Also, I think the authorities would be more tolerant of trance people in the Chicagoland versus the south or other parts of the west, I saw "my cousin vinny", so I know what happens when northerners run afoul of those southern sheriffs.

The location of Hog Ridge Hollow is just inside the Arkansas state line, in the most liberal area in the state. (Fayetteville) Furthermore, Hog Ridge, by next year, will have many more amenities that will help make it the PERFECT place for the nationwide (ie Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Mississipi, Texas, Colorado, the upper midwest, and still only about a days drive from the far west coast.

I dunno about 'a day's drive' - it took Casey something like 26 or 28 hours to get from Fayetteville to Burning Man that one year, and that included getting pulled over for going 30 miles over speed limit.
