I got to laugh about your comment that you only wanted 1000 visitors.. With the original international line-up you would never break even with only 1000 visitors. Please do not insult our intelligense. Evereybody here can do simple mathematics and 1000 visitors would NEVER pay the huge international lineup not to forget the many flights etc.

If you do simple mathematics, you realize that 1000 people eats and drinks a lot during one week, so if you take the income from the bars and add it to the income of the entrance, you can easily pay the artists.

I bet you spend at least 40 euros for food and drink in one week... do you still think that 80.000 euros is not enough to cover the bills? Especially when most artists play for only a couple of hundreds... think before laughing, not to become ridiculous.

I can see you got very little knowledge about a festival budget and what artist actually cost in fees and how expensive travel costs are. And do not forget that out of those "estimated" 40 euro you have to deduct the prise for buying the products and not all festival people buy everything at the festival.. they bring stuff too.
As someone that's been involved in organising parties and festivals the 1000 visitors story simply do not add up having such a huge international lineup where some artist cost 2000 euro+ ekscluding travel expenses and food, free bar etc.. And that's no matter if it's i Bulgaria or anywhere else.

if you check the line up of this festival, you see that only Atmos and Son Kite are around 2000 euros. the others are for couple of hundreds or even for only travel costs.
I don't know if you ever talked to organizers but you should know that all of them try to bargain with the artists for less fee, which is a normal thing these days (unfortunately).
Travel expenses are defenitaly cheap nowadays, especially if you do the reservation in time, or, like partly in this situation, flight companies are sponsoring the event with free tickets... the most expensive thing is the stage/sound, around 10.000 euros, and of course there are many other expenses, like visuals, security, workers, etc., but normally there is a lot of incomes (from stalls for instance) to cover them.
i also bring some food to a festival for myself but i don't bring beer or water, and i like tasting local food or anything so for sure i spend at least 40 euros in the bars even if i am supported by coupons or if i get free drink/food as an invited artist.
Finally, it was supposed to be a small festival, even the line up was huge (of course too big for this event), so i still think that 1000 people would have been enough for everything... without mistakes in organization.

So what we got here is a story with an organiser with small party experience of events who mostly were a financial failure and with debts to some of the artists,a sponsor guy who forgot to shoot his insuline and died,a piece of land that got donated by someone for free but then someone else appeared and claimed rent for the land he bought just some days ago,a presale fuck up from Yugoslavia,a generator that couldnt make it,another generator from Plovdiv that didnt want to come,a smaller generator that broke down, security guys demanding money by force,a deal with an air company that broke and another deal that couldnt happen because of luck of funds,a japanese girl crying because this was the best party of her life and blah blah blah.

Well what else can i say,add Superman somewhere in the story and you got yourself a magnificent script for a movie.

Mate you are either lying here or dont have absofuckinglutely no clue about how to organise anything and saying that next year you will again try to organise a festival can be considered only as an insult to every thinking person in this forum.          Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

Ya knowww! I really find it hard to understand why people think it's alright to project negativity, so much more than realizing that reality is made up of it all, some good happened too! Why the need to call names or bash one another over a situation, ok- that went wrong in many ways but that's not all that happened there. It's not the fault of Bulgaria,Hungary,Turkey,Macedonia, or any other nation, as a whole. And anyone that would judge a whole country because of one, so called "failed event" has other issues they need to be dealing with, rather than a party! They have more serious issues than 40Euro, a flight ticket, or a paycheque. That's really sophomoric and actually sad. Alright, we all lost some cash. We all travelled long distance. Some of us turned and went back before giving it a chance, and that's understandible. That could be because of past experiences or lack there of. Some went on in there anyway. Speaking for those that went in(myself being one of them)I have to say we really experienced something special. Even if you look at the photos you could see that clearly. And the Japanese girl was beautiful when she was crying or smiling, so don't worry about her! I'm not trying to bash anyone and I'm not writing this to defend anyone. Life is about learning you, guys! Gain wisdom, allow yourselves to become more intelligent, rather than just sounding like the back of the class(I'm not talking about everyone). More than likely that person is the one that will be angry with me for writing that. For those of you that I met at the festival, I thank you for coming. For those that never made it, then maybe some other time, at some other place. Be cool everybody. Without there being a generator for the first three days, many of us took that oppertunity to create new friendships and beautiful memories. I was so excited to see everyone dance with enjoyment after I had gotten to know them. It almost felt like going to a party where only your friends were on the dance floor. A new twist on things, but it was fun and for us with that attitude- It worked out, not how we planned, but we made it through with a great story to tell! So the plane crashed but we survived!:sunny:

But why did the organizers tell a friend of mine that the artists arrived at the airport and went back to their departures because of the reason that they waited for a shuttle and havenīt been picked up within 60 minutes??? That is a lie, isnīt it???

The fact is that many artists got e-tickets tickets and went to the airports just to find out that they had an e-ticket in their hands that was never paid for.

Mark my word. I seriously doubt there will be a 2nd Tchamla "Festival". Every person from Bulgaria I talked to do not want them back again. And I think the local people from the scene are trying to organise something themself next year which is much better. Why have foreigners organising "Festivals" in Bulgaria only to f*** the Bulgarians. It's happened 2 times now.

the organizers told my friend, that the artists arrived at the airport in bulgaria (!!!) and went back because of the reason that nobody picked them up within 60 minutes... and i do know from one of the artists-guys (for sure) that they never went to the airport and departed. i am really wondering about the organizers`s fairythales and that they are still telling them!!!
