Ok.
here're my 2 cents.
Mike is right. it's not the equipment, it's the man behind it.
first things first.
better soundcards, synths and other equipment does NOT make you a better or more proffesional creator. given you only now bought Q or indigo and you don't know jack in how to operate it.
say i come from france, moshe. does that automatically make me a living trance artist with gold records to my bag? don't think so.
and btw, some of the best talamasca tracks were written on impulse, or so the stories i heard say... |

Hey, what are we argueing about? What is better and what is more pro - hard or soft?
This dispute isn't fair from the beginning.
Moshe, "if once any kid with a computer & impulse tracker could write some bom tss bom tss ...
& say he was a trance artist"
Okay, give that kid all hard equip and if he manages to make good track, what that say? And after that he say he is an artist! And if the same kid can make some tracks with hard and dunno what's Rebirth, does it prove anything?
I personally agree with Mike. He is 100% right. If someone can make good stuff with soft or hard or bottles or crockery or dunno fucking what it doesn't lead to dispute whats better - bottles or crockery :)
And Talamasca is good man. EG, he gave me a new wave of inspiration 'coz i make music too and don't have money to buy expansive equip. And if somenoe did that with soft... Yeap :)

but i didn't call him a pro. i said equipment does not make you a pro. whether u are a pro or not is being shown by your work.

okay u all.
i hear you but you did'nt understand my opinion...
i didn't say that eqp makes u a pro, its just that there r some really untalented people that compile trance only it can be done simply noises & bd. i really hate to see these people creating bad reputation to such innovative type of music.
it could have such an onnorable name in the music industry 'couse to make such music u have to have a real talent in sound prossesing & at mastering.
so too bad it has such a bad name.....

for me it's like this :
I dont care if some artist create his stuff in impulse tracker or with 1,000,000$ studio , as long it sounds good to me , and i like it .
and IMO you CAN create everything you want with only a strong cpu this days .

and cedric is a great example.
and moshe if you dont like him, doesnt mean he is no good.
it just mean you dont like him.
i know my trance.
and i think he is very talented.
but that is a diff story....
