Well people it was a while since i did a reveiw but hey lets give it a try shall we? First of all i want to inform u people that Minimusic is my main passion in the variety of trance styles but since i´ve seen lots of nice words about the so called full-on super Cedric i thought that i might buy this cd, so hey here we are.....
Numero 1. Psychedelic Knights.
He opens this cd with somespacey sounds and a nice "flanged" drum kicks in nothing fancy the bassline who i like starts bouncing a few moments before the Kick strikes the track and the drum becomes more reverbed and flanged. LOVELY beat and some nice fx´s and a lead tha reminds me of Son Kite´s openfaced. A nice lead with that nice plastic feeling comes in nice and fills the emptyness quite nice yet the bouncy/goaish feeling remains. The "openfaced" feeling makes room for a more fast and hypnotizing guitaristic lead which suddenly will be replaced by some copcar sirens! well not my cop of tea there but when the NOO feeling strook me the sirens stopped :) and a nice perc line filles it up. A realy nice song this is keeps on going with the perc, a little break and a new lead comes floating in with a nice delay and a nice flange on it! REALY GOOD FULL ON THIS IS :D well this is one good track.... I have never heard cedric before except the halloween track that didnt impress me much BUT HEY THIS ROX!!!! :)
Numero 2. Magnetic Field
Opens with a delayed sample and a nice "auqatic" lead who makes it float and a kick VS bassline is faded slowly towards you, nice kick nice bass and a nice hihat line comes barging in on ya! A Nice drum with some nice effects starts percingnizing you ;) a nice "effected" phase lead comes in and makes everything FULLON´ish, so far realy nice! some more freaky fx´s starts spinning back and forward. Makes me wanna dig ;) a tiny tiny brak and it hits u again without the phase lead and the fx´s is replaced by some REALY flanged fx´s hits.. I LIKE IT!! ;) The opening sounds (Aquatic) comes back and makes it a fast slowly thingy track :) the beat remains good and the bassline never gets boring in any kind. A break with some cooooool sounds and a rev-cymbal, a sample and BOOOOOOOM we are on the move again.. :D
welll u gotta hear this one! LOVELY!
Numero 3. Insanity
Opens with lots of delayed samples and BOOOOM we get the kick, fx´s and bassline without any "BUT´s" some left/right switching perc´s and a nice phasy boom boom boom´s keeps lefty righty thingy =) a quite annoying screaming sounds starts and off we go to a new break with some pads and samples yet he doesnt suprise me with the no but´s thing ;) BOOM TSS BOOM TSSS is on the move and it never gets boring here either, nice goaish/fullonish sounds yet there is something more than that, unexplainable stuff =) in TWO words, NO BGM...
Numero 4. The Racer
Opens with nice pads and a good drumsample, The bassline (this man has the bassline feling) is nice. the beat is nice! The pads are there still floating in the background! A little Psycraft feeling here :) Whoooosh and the hihats comes in. NICE FLOW!!! And another WHOOOSH and a realy nice lead come in making this floaty track even more floaty and then a good perc (sounds like a kitchen fight) comes in! HEY DUDE U GOTTA LISTEN TO THIS ONE!!!!!! no words :) NO BGM here either! AMAZING SOUNDS! :D woooooooooooow! Im impressed cus this album is made SOFTWARE ONLY.... ;)
Numero 5. Musica Divinorum
The title song opens with a HUMMING dude, and some percy things fades in. A kick builds up a need FOR A BEAT! And here we go a beat and a kind of strange bassline if u refer to the previous ones... Still i like it here when we are in the middle of the album! the dude comes in humming with some phased hihats.. :) a "whistle" sounds makes room for a humming chick and the dude is silenced ;) a flute with a new percline enters and i realy like the "ethnic" feeling over it, well i lost that feeling when a VERY electro sounds comes in and almost spoils that lovely feeling but hey he gives me a nice phase lead to heal the wounds :) very nice.... A short break and the kick,bassline,hihats and the chicks keep on for a while when suddenly the guy takes over. What is this? Guy Vs Chick? :) a percline enters and everything feels nice. Well U gotta hear this one too!!! Magnificent work here Talamasca i think u got a new fan here in sweden ;)
Numero 6. The old School
I like the name of it, and a new guy starts HUMMING among some drums and the kick/bassline starts pumping with some nice delayed fx´s. feels good, a new bouncy lead takes over with some "drippy" sounds and i still like the feeling on this one! The guy keeps on humming. A little tiny break and the kick, bassline and hihats works for a while when a new lead strikes your now Talamasca lovin head and makes u float... The humming guy will not leave u, when a more goaish sounds start trippin and the kickybassy thingy comes in and u just GOTTA like this one! cus i love it!!!!
Numero 7. Time Simulation
A nice flutey thing here with some nice drums and a sample thats REALY delayed... A REALY NICE beat with the bassline who never sounds bad! the flutey sampley thing is still here when a cymbal crashes and a bassguitaristic lead comes forward and makes everything a little cozy is the best word i can find here... A nice goaish lead strikes u with a kind of ethnic inspired flute mixed with percy sounds... A nice one this is so far.. The beat is still good with those nicey flutey stuff ;) well this one is realy good although my main (as said before) style is minimal i have this feeling about full-on that i didnt have before... Well Talamasca u have changed my point of view here... Full-on doesnt suck, its not bad, its more like a unexplainable feeling making machine. hmmm 8)... This song is realy good with that magnificent lead in the end.. POWERFULL!!!
Numero 8. Why Not
A spacey feeling with some congos opens this one up. Flangey sounds fills up a little when the bassline comes and fills even more up (i wonder why its called FULL ON WHEN FILL IT is better ;)) The kick comes and its a quite scary feeling because of some realy cool pads who pitches down as they strike u. the drum makes everything more shakey groovey. LOVELY.... then a quite non garge-likey lead come :( yet it stops fast so i dont mind it :) nice beats and then a even more scary sounds comes, sounds like screaming people! 8) ha ha ha lovely! the non garge thingy comes back. well not my cup og tea here..... so i will leave this one unjudged because u never know when u will understand a track completly.... well of we go to the next one!
Numero 9. Joint O´ Clock
Well this is the last track of this IMO very good album. Opens with nice dreamy pads and in the background i here a good lead coming, the kick start and i get the feeling that this is a ambient track, well i wasnt wrong :) it feels like a improved, new painted, newly modified 12.00 suns :) Well u gotta hear this people. I will leave this one untouched so u people can make your own opinion about this one, all i have to say is that Talamasca wont dissapoint u on this one!
CONCLUSION ABOUT TALAMASCA MUSICA DIVINORUM.
Well as said in the top (and the iddle as a matter of fact) Minimalistic is my main track. But this album is realy one EVERYBODY should have the possibilty to hear and experience. I mean this one have touched me deeply and i gotta say that it brings out feelings u thought have died with the old goaish musica ;) well go get it and do it now! Thanx for reading this and i would be delighted if i get some feedback on this reveiw!

ahhh my man this is too long...thanks for all the effort to bring it to our attention, but its better to write shorter more to-the-point reviews, in my opinion.
i feel its not important to describe the track, for example there is no need to say "for 16 bars it goes boom tss boom and then a flanged kik drum blah blah.." . As an artist I already know what I did, and don't need someone to remind me.
the main thing is to tell us how the music in the CD makes you FEEL, and a short description of each track is nice, but of the musical content, not the blueprint ;)
man u have lots of free time, i wish i did too :) ;)

i didnt say it wasn't good, its a nice overall review.
all i'm saying is there's no need to analyze the track so much - in this case its better off to ask the artist for the cubase files, you can review every single sound then ;)

well i dont believe in:
1. track 1 is good
2. track 2 is bad
3. tarck 3 is ok
if u know what i mean, i like it that way! its gives a picture how this song is built and people can use their own imagination to produce the song inside their heads.... Hypotheticly that is...

well,if it was like a month ago-i'd read the whole review,every word ,bcs it really touched me as it did 4 u. now i'm cooler ,after listening 2 it about 7-8 times and hell knows how much times time simulation .but one thing is 4 sure - a must albom for trancelover.
p.s: i think that this albom had already been reviwed here but that's ok - ppl will happy to review your review (if they have some time) :) |

Indeed a great album!!!
I'm surprised, though, that a minimalistic guy loved it....
I'm a full on psy lover... and this is just the album for me. Don't care what alot fo people say - I love Talamasca and love Cedric's music.
I saw him twice live - and both were great, great shows!
Mental - I also think that the review is kinda too long... It's nice that you describe each track, but you are really being to specific. I think it should be something between what you did and what Purple Passion suggested. But it's nice that you took the time to write this detailed review.

Minimal is main mine track also.
But Talamaska for sure my lifetime love becoze of previous years. i was in fucking dilema, listen/not listen to it..
now, after i haved read this Buity review i know and Feel like i haved listen to this cd.

Well I didn't like this album at all..
It's boring and all the tracks sound the same..
I downloaded it listened through the mp3s and then deleted them..
I guess this album would be okay in a party but it's definetly not for homelistening
