I beg to differ.

I've been asked in the past not to say anything in the forums about this production, and I imagine this topic will magically disappear anyway soon as all references to TFN have in the past; but frankly I don't think it really makes much difference anymore as everyone knows all about these parties anyway and I feel there's some things I need to express.

So from my point of view, I'm quite disappointed. I've been going to TFN for 2 years now and this last event, well, something's changed. Something was off key. Something in the vibe, the atmosphere - the old magic I've come to feel at their events was lost this time.

It was probably a mixture of things, I'll start with the technicals - I didn't much care for the location, there was nothing perfect about it except the limited damage to the car on the way and that it was not far from home; other than that, it was rather bland, nothing special or uplifting about the nature there - not a forest or a beach or something surreal, just a piece of yellowy grass parkland with concrete facilities all over. Very establishment (and by the way, if you're gonna have real toilets, how about cleaning them once in a while? The girls' toilets, anyway, turned very quickly into a disgusting mess).
Maybe it could have been covered with interesting deco, but the deco that was there - well I didn't notice it much.

The music - I dunno what went wrong here, but it just didn't speak to me much. It was nice at best. None of it caught me or spun me into loss of self control as usual. Didn't do it for me.

The heat - the temperatures soared, it was hot as hell and dry, and the cooling system provided - as in the sprinklers - were totally pointless! they might as well have kept them turned off and save the water; even when the music improved some and I came back to the dancefloor, I was dehydrated after 2 minutes and could hardly move. And there was not enough shading on the dancefloor either. This part was awful!

The story and the setting - well, for a change, there was none. It was supposed to be a purim carnival but it felt like a fairly ordinary run of the mill party, none of the usual fancifulness and creativity; the nuances, the little things, the personal touch of the guys handing out treats all the time and smiling at each and every person - these were replaced by a set of commercial market stalls which I didn't quite get. 4 kinds of food, massages, jewlery? Why? Who needs all this? what does any of it have to do with trance? when did TFN become Boombamela (for grownups)?

It feels like the values of the production have changed. It used to be an almost ideology of simple means serving a higher end of giving a personal touch and feel, caring about the people. Today it seemed like they were thinking like business people instead of party people, and this is not the TFN I've come to know.
Also the people were different, many familiar and usual faces were gone and replaced by many unknowns, who did not bring the usual loving and hugging feeling of the dancefloor. For the first time in a TFN event I felt like a guest instead of a family member.

I'm fine with paying 120 shekels for a party, but I expect this money to be put to good use. And no, good use is not a pineapple stall – it's looking out for the little and simple details. It should pay for outstanding artists, for creating a surreal and exceptional area whether by picking a new and amazing piece of nature and/or creative and interesting deco, for installing a decent cooling system (like that fountain from Tel Arad), for carefully selecting a small but quality crowd.. I'll be fine with a shady forest in the sun and a chaishop. Shouldn't it be about the music and the people, not the food choices?

I have always come back from TFN parties feeling like I had been transported to another universe for a few hours, some type of fairyland; and it was always done with the simplest ways. This time, I was very unsatisfied. It used to be the music, the natural setting and the human setting, these create a good party, not some flashy superficial show of grandeur.

It's like it looked like TFN, it sounded like TFN, but it wasn't TFN.. and this is really sad because they had something really special and beautiful going before and I wish they would go back to the old style and vibe – simple setup, lots of soul.. bring back the personal touch.
Maybe a lot of you wont share my views on this; but other people I spoke to agreed with me. I guess it's up to the production people to decide on what crowd they wanna focus on.

If this is the direction the production has decided to go in, I guess I'll find other events to go to; but it would be a damn shame.

I just wanna emphasize - it's not about the small technicals really, it's not like the past parties were perfect in that sense. The little faltot just reflect the main feeling- if it's good, the faltot don't matter and you don't care about them. If it's off, they stand out.

Not much needs to be done, what they've done in the past is just perfect. It's like with each party they try to outdo themselves and go bigger and bigger or something, and I don't really understand why because they've already hit the spot a few parties ago. They could just keep doing what they know, just do it well; this concentration on putting on a flashier show each time instead of on just making a little magic making them lose the point somewhere - that it's not about huge productions (those are nice once in a while, as exceptions) it's about music, people and lovely nature. Stop trying to make it bigger each time, because it will become too big and it will burst.

Incindentally, if any TFN people are seeing this and getting upset about this discussion in an open forum - I get the idea, but keeping the production off the forum walls is not what will stop it from becoming popular, as yesterday's party has shown. Word gets out not through the forums obviously, as it seems everyone knew about this party and it hasn't been mentioned on here for ages. I think some things should be said publicly as they are relevant to the general discussion.

i usually dont respond here neither just like i was asked to aswell liluy - and you do have a point on almost every thing you said altho i totally disagree about the music - in my opinion up until 12 it was awesome music all the way but unlike in any party of theirs ive been to before they put on chill music way too early when alot of people were ready to dig much longer... but thats a minor thing and i do understand the reason they did it, and like liluy said i hope they go back to what made them so unique and back to the real nature where they do their thing so good and special

no it wasnt bad or anything, there was some good music there, not like I didn't dig just not as much as I would have liked.. it didn't draw me in enough. Dunno about the chillout cause I left at 12, but something felt off. But maybe it was just the big picture that made it seem that way.           more burekas than famous

first things first. i always happy to hear that a party went well. especially all of the outdoors raves. but.......
how exactly the F**k can you relay on cheesy linup based only on full on artists and also be satisfied ?! just don't get it.
ok. so let's say that there are 1500 gorgeous girls and the deco is cool and all. but from where do you expect to get the psychedelic vibe from?! it's not even about going mainstream or something like that. it's all about carrying the goa/psy/whatever you name it experience. the music needs to be set by every our of the night/morning. of course you can go full on all the way but by that missing out the point.

in the end u'll get a mixed crowd (probably most of them don't know much about the music), a cluby sense and an awful mainstream feeling..

Good Luck!

I think that LiluY is right- every word of yours is in the rock.

I've been to t.f.n in the last 2 yr also, and i have to mention that this party was the lamest of it all- for the eye of somebody who is not well known with this production everything could have been magnificent but there was a baaaaaad baaaaad vibe ther.

kmow what? when i'm thinking of this vibe i'm about to throw up. like what the @%#$ was wrong there? i still can't believe it.

the only set that i could stand were bliss and this is one of my less valued artists in my view. extreamly bad choice of artists except e.u - without this set i sure gone to sleep at 8 a.m.

Full on full on full on super bad mixing (loud) more full on ppl go to bed the party is over.

The ppl(ppl=10% who knew someting about who is playing and know what good vibe is) and the music sure didn't get along toghter at all, the location was quiet weird and disturbing but didn't care too much about is except for the facilities- who wants to see building at a nature party? you? you want? go to a tzunami party.

spinculars- what was wrong with them? after 4 h dancing (or trying to) with 1 gr mdma in my stomach i think they should provide some nice cooling effect dont they?

Girls were fine, only 4 faces that i've seen unfortunally (4 too much, never seen before a face in tfn) but the bottom line- there was a mixed crowd that it seemed to happen because of not welled selection of ppl like always and more of it-

WHAT THE F*%&? WHY DONT YOU WEAR A COSTUM TO A PURIM PARTY? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PPL?
wearing a t shirt which is "KROA" and a stupid hat didn't count. at 9 a.m i realized that i'm almost the ONLY PITER PEN in the dance floor so i went changing clothes from embaress in the "dleka".

i know the tfn crew..they really tried and this is natural appearing to a bad vibe party (again- one of 10) so i cannot judge them in any critiria.

the ppl with the beat inside their hearts (10% of the crows) were down down at the bottom. everybody else had the time of their life.

a big plus for the deco. and organization.

waiting to next, like bob said- every little thing is gonna be alright, don't you worry liluY.

p.s

Stoli you're the king! you really tried to take everybody up with you while jumping on the stage/climbing the what was that/dancing with the holla-hop we sure know t.f.n will do better next time.

hello all.
It was my first Tfn party and I have a few comments of my own:

The good-

what a crowd!!!!!!! I am dancing at parties all most 12 years all around the world, and I haven't seen so much happy colourful and polite ppl goatherd in one trance fest in israel, it felt like europe.
A very clean party with no pushy aggressive ppl. I dont think that theres alot of productions out there which are capable to fill a an event (in presale) this kind of crowd.
It was a really purim carnival - most of the ppl there, were dressed in the most creative costumes I ever seen which created a magical and surreal feeling.
The location and settings-
a very good location in my opinion, for this kind of of a big crowded production.
the design the sound the bar and all the other aspects of a good and professional production were there.

the bad-

time table: maybe it just me, but when I go to a 12h trance party, I want to enjoy the night, the day and the megical time that between.
For some reason, tfn (and alot of the crowd itself I must add) , didnt put almost any attention to the 03:30-6:00 period.
It seems that the party just began at 6:30 Am.
where are the night time heavy and powerful digging??? maybe the production wanted to set this one on the more liter side of the scale, but come on, to keep the night so empty and boring.
where was the breathtaking uplifting vibe just before sun up that this kind of parties are so famous for. why to start with the energy so late in the morning, when a lot of ppl couldn't continue to dig because it started to get so damm hot.
The music:
what a disappointment!!!!
not even one dj had succeeded to catch the crowd and storm their brains.
the energy of the ppl was there, the anticipation was there, and we were all ready for the music to go up and kill us! but it never came!
It felt like that the dj's was requested by the production to play it hard but not to hard, you want to play a killer track , ok, but play 3 burring nothing inside them tracks afterwards.
you can't base your sunup music on guitar trance. I like electric universe but after 15 min we want something new, especially at 7:00 am.
I said before that it was a clean party, well in my opinion, it was to clean, in a trance party you want to ppl to go a little crazy and wild, but in this one the music didn't let us to go that far.

to sum up-
great production ,great location and set up, beautiful ppl, not good music.

keep us dancing tfn.......................
