This mesage is from Gulliame:

"To all of you Dreamers, Wonderers and Believers, To my Friends, Brothers and Sisters,

I have to announce an important news, the Saturday November 23 party was the last chapter of the Synthetic Sadhus' four years Saga. The New Yearıs Eve is cancelled as well as ALL the upcoming parties. It is the conclusion of a beautiful and unforgettable adventure, the conclusion of 10 amazing years devoted to the Trance culture and 28 magical gatherings in the Big Apple. I ran out of strenght, out of money and I worked to the bone for way too long...
As you guys know, this music is my heartbeat and the trance scene surely remains an authentic way of life that I embraced with passion, but I simply can not continue to sacrifice all my energy and my love for gatherings that people chose not attend anymore. I have been patient and offered all I could give, but I am extremely tired. It is always better to stop on a beautiful party than to wait for things to turn real ugly, It is time to accept reality and to accept that the trance culture did not prevail in New York City. Of course it was a great challenge, to offer an alternative artistic way of life in the capital of the money-driven wild capitalist world was one hell of a challenge and We, dreamers, managed to dream in a world that does not allow dreams for the last Four years! But today, while records shops are either closing, either refusing to distribute Trance any longer, while trance distributors are moving away from New York, while other productions are completely bankrupt, while legendary labels are disapearing or reconverting in Tech-House or progressive, we have to look at reality and accept that the Psy-Trance in U.S.A is really in a dead-end situation. There is a beautiful small family that I will miss to gather, but there are NO scene, no scene allowing us to survive independently, no Americans while we are in America, they did not embrace our revendications, our dreams, our music...
I guess in America they are too used to sugar-coated suppository music, they just want easy to swallow sounds to relax from their 10 hours a day work week. Because the quest in this country is not spiritual but material, which explains why in 5 years of trance in New York, we still don't have any electronic radio, any kind of sponsoring, no means of distribution and information, no specialized press, barely a spot to put flyers in the few shops there is, cops ready for action outside the parties if we distribute flyers in the street, etc...etc...etc...
It cost too much for a too small audience, in other words it is a dead end ! Because no one had the balls to take a risk, people want sure money and as fast as possible. And for the very few who took risks such as Us or Tsunami or Spectra, well at the last Tsunami, the artist refused to play because of the lack of attendance, then the last Spectra, the artist did not show up and the venue closed its doors, about us at the last Synthetic, we barely reached 500 souls while we had more than double last year at the same date. The New York crowd is before all a club crowd, they are not interested in the underground, they are not even curious. In despite of all the amazing painters and deco artists we brang, in despite of stunning international line-ups, and a truly beautiful international crowd, in despite of venues with security that join us on the dancefloors, they are not curious. It is in a way the same mentality towards foreign subtitled movies, New Yorkers are lazy, it is too much work to read subtitles. Therefore there is only three or four independant movie theater in the pretendously capital of the world ! There is such a lack of artistic motivation, of spiritual communication...And even the rave productions are falling apart one after the other, the entire electronic culture is in decline in this country, only the VERY commercial, clubby house music still drive crowds today, but that's the way it is ! Personnally, Trance is too important in my life for me to reconvert myself with more commercial productions, I would never find the motivation if it is only about making some dough...I'd rather do something else, I have other ressources, other passions....I will miss it, I will miss all of you, but I retire with no regrets, I met so many great individuals, I have so many beautiful souvenirs and I found so much inspiration, these last ten years have been unforgettable....
And thanks to you guys who supported us, who believed in the Sadhus and shared this adventure with so much love... Thanks for all the smiles, for all your mails and for all your support, it is what kept me going for so long ! But Trance culture beliefs represents the antagonist concept of New York City's mentality, we represented a small knot of resistance in front of the ever growing sins of never ending greed, we proposed an other look on life, another approach to perceive and to feel, another way to love, a TRUE way and a REAL look, but then again it does not seem that human nature instinctively bends towards these directions, it requires thinking and efforts, will and determination, frankness versus fakeness, etc... Also and most importantly, the artists did change, the true pioneers, the unavoidable ones, the ones who guided us , who made us believe, really believe became an endangered species today, some of the new comers are arrogant, pretentious, greedy and a torture to work with and I feel relieve to know that I wonıt have to deal with those no more, those artists that pretend to embrace and to represent the trance culture but that want to travel only in Business class, cry because they stay in 200 $ a night hotels, are paid Thousands of dollars for a 2 hour set, make me rent thousands of $ of equipment they fake to use on stage, require to have as many hotel nights as they feel for their "holidays" in New york, sometimes even asking me to pay for their nights out before or after the party...I mean it is NEVER enough, artists like Alien "Reject" that could disguss any trance lovers from ever listening to this music again, cheap crooks....Thanks God I am only talking of a minority, because most of the talents I brang were great guys, passionate and humble, inspiring people that gave a face to the amazing tracks we heard...
I mean if you consider yourself as Madonna, go in the fucking show Business and do not pronounce the word underground, it is forbidden on Arsimıs lips...Just stay away from people who try to share a dream, because WE are true visionnaries a little too much in advance on their time...Anyway the Sadhus will always stay alive in our memories and who knows one of these days, on a magical night, a flyer might announce a surprise Synthetic gathering...We never know what the future holds...
Although it is the end of an era, it is also the beginning of a new one, but the foundations of the true tribe seem to have dispersed, at least in New York, let's keep all these magical nights and dawns alive in our memories, and remember Krisztina who filled with grace and beauty the most memorable of these Babylonian fragments of life in which we succeeded to form an entity....It is just an "Au revoir".....
And as always, with much Love, Peace & light....Synthetic Sadhus

Reading this over again, i really wanna state my feelings that i think they are right... although i love seeing everyone at their parties, it is not enough people... and also, anytime i tried to bring americans to these gatherings, they came equipped with govt. standard issued glow paraphenelia and clubby clothes. It is true, they dont know how to digest it, and those who do, realize that they rather not digest it, cause it requires chewing; rather have a milkshake from club mcdonalds. I guess one cannot depend on mostly israeli and japanese foreigners who usually dont have alot of money to spend like the locals.

On a lighter note, someone else could step up to the plate now and like in the good american tradition: "Batter Up!"           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

I just can't imagine a city such as NY doesn't have a psy-trance scene

too bad for NY trancers, and I should reconsider my trip to the city for the NYE

This is a sad time for psy trance in the Northeast US. Synthetic Sadhus definitely was way above everybody else in the quality of their events. They will leave a huge void.

Peace!

This is the worst news I heard in a really long time.
You can understand from the way he conveys his message that the man has sincerly tried all that he can and he just can't stand to do it any longer. The lack of success plus the personal tradegy he went through a few months ago apparently makes it impossible for him to continue throwing parties. I understand the guy 100% and I salute him and the effort he put into the american trance scene.

In spite of all this I refuse to believe that psy-trance in America is dead.
I strongly feel that if the Trance scene in Israel or India was started by throwing 95% club parties then it would have struggled there also. You can't expect people to fall in love with this music after listening to it at some dodgy club in Brooklyn. I don't care if you are American or Japaneese or from Mars. Outdoor parties are the best way to listen to psy-trance. I am aware of the fact that this is virtually impossible in a place like New York. But if you look at places like San Francisco and Ashville more then 50% of the party people are Americans. So please don't generalize and say that "all americans are like this or that...." because you aren't Kevin Costner and this isn't Field of Dreams. If you build it they won't always come.
On a lighter note, I really hope that Tsunami will continue bringing top notch artists to New York because I can't imagine that the biggest city in America won't have a trance scene. There are just too many trance-heads that live there and pass through temporarily to just give up forever. Maybe the next organizer who steps up should think about not bringing the most expensive artists in the world but bringing one good proven DJ that will get the job done.
Many times you would see 3 or 4 huge names on one bill an New York parties. This is unneccessary IMO.
I think its too early to bury Trance in the US.           Both teams played hard

This is really sad. I loved going to those parties. My friends and I would drive up from Philadelphia just for them. We would party all night and rush home the next morning to be at work. It was always such a great time that I didn't care that I would have to work without any sleep. Every month I looked forward to pinching the extra money just to go. I will miss this dearly. Hopefully the other promoters can keep it going.

its just a case of trying to go too big too fast by the sounds of it... and the outdoor notion - very correct.

i agree this is very sad! please dont lose hope tho! its VERY hard in the us for sure but the beat goes on...in sf we have a small but fullon scene..family oriented..i see what happening on the larger scale too many artists running on the rockstar vibration..BUT there are many with good intentions who are truly trancheads and are there to dance with us and inspire us to dance thru their vibrations! lets remeber we arent tryign to mimic society but vibrate hgither and spread love and cosmic understanding..one family worldwide...lets encourage the "rockstars" to remeber why they are in psytrance and why we are here...

big peace!           freaks unite!!!!

This is just the saddest thing ever. I lost my trance virginity at a Saddhus party and I have so many wonderful memories of their parties. They were a truly magical organization in a city that's too often lacking in genuine magic.

It is doubly tragic because the organizer/promoter Gilles (I think that's his name) lost his girlfriend/co-organizer of five years in a plane crash this May. I pray for him and I hope others will do the same.

I don't know, but so many strange and horrible things have been happening over the last two years. There's some great evil afoot in the world.

i agree, the collapse of synthetic is a sad sad thing ..
but hey, they threw some incredible parties .. !           paagal power ..
